Cookie Swirl C. Welcome back to Cookie Swirl C. We're going to be doing a junk journal project today that is inspired by Dandy's World. I thought it'd be fun to kind of work on my little this pet shop upcycled junk journal. And I think we're going to create something using real dried flowers from outside, which will be absolutely perfect for spring. I think it would be absolutely perfect to use the Dandies World tune bassie. So that's what we're going to do today. We're going to be doing a bassy inspired junk journal page using real dried flowers. So, I'm going to do this here. I'm just

going to pick one of these pages. I just I like to just kind of pull a page out that I can work on. So, we'll just pull one of these out. Come on. There we go. All right. So, we got my page here. And then let's flip to the front of the journal. And I already have my pictures of Bassie right here in the little front pocket. So, all I did was go inside of the Dandy's World game and I just took some screenshots. This is the new Bassie skin that you can unlock by completing the little calendar every single day. And then how cute. This is the bunny rabbit pebble that I thought was so cute. So, I didn't know what size

of Bassie I wanted to use, so I just printed out two different sizes. This one's slightly larger, but I thought it'd be really cute to make a page with the flowers. And I think I want to do something that has to do with the spring fever event. If you play the game, if you know the spring fever event, it's where the whole um game floor gets filled with like a purple smoke. It's really cool looking. I really like it. So, I think I'm just going to make this all purple. Uh like really smoky, like a smoky purple just like it has in the game. And then we're going to have Bassie and Pebble on the scene with some real flowers. So, that's what we're going to do. So, first thing I want to do is I

want to start getting my flowers drying. So, let's go outside and let's go pick some flowers that I just saw just around the yard. Perfect. All right, so I've got my flowers right here. They're going to be absolutely perfect. I'm going to use a little bit of some freezer paper. I usually just use this um just to hold my water bowl whenever I'm painting. But I'm going to take these flowers and Oh, look at the itty tiny little bitty bug. Oh no, I got to go put that outside. He does not want to be in here with me. He needs to go back outside. So, hang on. Now I'm going to trim the flowers so they don't have the stems on them. I kind of like the little purple ones with

a little bit of the stem though. Oh, this is going to be so springy. These little ones are so tiny. They're so cute. I kind of like them with the little stems. I think I might actually leave a lot of those the stems on them. Now, let's open up my wax paper or my Oh no, there's another one of those teeny tiny little bugs. All right, he's got to go outside. He didn't ask to come inside. I'm going to put my flowers on my freezer paper like that and just arrange them for how I want them to press. So, there they are in there. Now, I'm just going to lay them down like this and I'm going to press Whoops. Kind of space those out a little bit. Okay, I'm going to press something really heavy on top and I'm going to let

this dry for several days to flatten and dry out the flowers and then we'll check on them. Okay, before I flattened them, I rearranged the flowers to actually be Uh-oh, they're sticking to the top. Uh-oh. There you go. I rearranged them so that way the flower part is actually facing down so they'll flatten out really nice. So, while those flowers are drying, let's go ahead and create the purple foggy haze for the background of the journal page. So, I'm just going to go in with some acrylic paint. This is in Velvet Crush. I'm going to give it a good shake. We are going to do some painting. The first thing I'm going to do is do a really faint wash at first on

the page. So, really, really, really faint. So, I'm going to use a bigger paint brush, a little bit of some paint, and then dip it in some water. I don't want it to be too much. I want it to be very, very, very light. And let me open this up because we're only going to paint one page here. Okay, that's a little bit too dark. There we go. So, I want it to be really hazy and light because then I'm going to paint another wash on top of it. There we go. Woo! This page is soaked. It is saturated right now with water. Okay, perfect. Just going to let that dry. And while the background is drying, I'm going to go ahead and take my picture of Pebble and Bassie, and I'm

going to paint a little coat of Mod Podge over them just to make the colors of this paper kind of pop a little bit more. So, just dip a little bit in. And I'm just going to seal the color in on them. Just feel like it just kind of brings out the color just a bit. Sometimes I have to be careful cuz sometimes it makes the ink smear, but it looks like it's good for right now. Coat number one looks so good on here, but I'm still going to add another little layer on here. So, go in and make this really splotchy. Add lots of water. So, my flowers have been drying now for several days. So, I just want to check on them. Let's take a little look here.

Are they dry? Okay, these do feel a little bit soft still. And I do not want to add these pressed flowers to my junk journal until they're absolutely like they have to be completely dry. But I know that about these dandelion flowers that they do hold a little bit of some moisture in the green part. These little tiny purple flowers look pretty good. So we'll probably go ahead and continue with those. And then I did go ahead and pick some more flowers and press them. And I also put them in the microwave to try out a different drying technique. And it looked like this actually worked pretty well. So, I just put them in the microwave on some parchment paper and then I just zapped them in the microwave for about 15 seconds at a

time. And this worked pretty well. I mean, look at that. That is like as thin as paper and they feel really, really dry. So, I think I may actually just use these ones. And then I found these little cute little flowers that were clustered together, too. And then I have some more dandelions in here. Let's see how these ones did. Are these dry? So, these ones I also put in the microwave. Yeah, these ones feel pretty dry and pretty good. So, I think we're ready to continue and add these into our little bassy journal. So, I'm going to prep the page by now cutting out my little Mod Podge Pebble and Bassie. So,

I'm just going to cut around this. I got them all cut out. So, I've got Pebble and Bassie. And now I just have to work on my placement now of where I want my dried flowers and see where I want everything to go. So I think ooh I could do them in the background. I could do them in the foreground. Ooh, some of these are kind of big. All right, let's just put them in. Put Grab all my different size flowers. Get these ones out. These ones are a little bit smaller. Some of these ones are giant. I think let me keep those ones in the background. But see, Bassie's got a little loop here on her basket handle that I kind of like to cover up right here

from the I think it was from the writing. So, I kind of want to cover that a little bit. So, I'm just going to kind of plan this out where I want my flowers to go. I can't forget about these little pretty purple ones. Those are so pretty. I kind of want to just cover the whole thing in flowers. I mean, that's the whole point is that we've got these pretty pressed flowers and I want to use them up. I want to just go for it. Yeah, that's what I think I'm just going to do. You know what? Maybe I'll just glue the flowers down and then I will put Pebble and Bassie on top of them. I think maybe we'll just do that. So, I think I'm just going to go crazy

gluing them down. So, I'm going to go in with my outdoor Mod Podge and I'm just going in. I'm just doing it. Little bit of water. And we're just painting these down. So, on the back of every flower, I'm just going to place some Mod Podge. A lot of Mod Podge and press the dried flower down on the page. Get everything on here. I'm so happy that they actually dried. I was a little concerned that these dandelions wouldn't dry because I kept touching them, touching the green part and they were still kind of spongy and soft feeling. So, I was like, "Oh, I don't know." And then it's like, "Oh, microwave technique. We can just do that."

Put them in the microwave and just kind of dry out the flowers that way. So, a little bit on this one right here. This one's so cute with these little clusters. All right. Place that on here. I mean, I'm going to kind of Yeah. Okay. I likey. I like how this is turning out. I just I kind of want them just to be all over. Paint this one. Little bit of Mod Podge. Oh, careful. And I have to be really careful with this. Of course, this is going to be an extremely fragile project because it's dried flowers. Flowers are delicate anyways, but whenever you dry them out, they are

super fragile. All right, that one's not down. That one's a big one. I'm going to put this one. This one's kind of falling apart. Maybe I won't use that one. We got a big one right here. This one is huge. It's a giant dandelion. Let's see if I can get this one to stick really nicely on here. The petals are kind of coming apart. Oh, it kind of stuck to my finger. Okay. Yeah, this one's kind of Whoop. You going to want to stay? Do you want to be part of the project or not? Kind of. Okay. Kind of. All right. Maybe we'll just take some of that white fuzzy part and we'll just keep that little fluffy part.

Some more of these little flowers. And I'm going to take some more of these tiny ones in here that I dried. These are so tiny. They're like itty bitty little micro flowers. Little microscopic ones or so. Like it's Look at how tiny that is. I think I'm going to put some on the page and then press the flower. There you go. Oh, see. Look. It wants to stick to my finger. It's so tiny. Stay. Just thought this would be so perfect for spring and for Bassie since she loves flowers. I like Bassie. And I like this new skin that they made, too. I think it's a really pretty skin.

Oh, these are all loose. I got to get these down. Give this one. Oop. I painted the wrong side. That's okay. It's okay. We're going to seal everything in anyways. Yeah, going the microwave route was definitely the right way to go cuz these are these are flat. They are really flat. Oh no. One of the little micro ones. Oh no. Stay down. Stay on the page. Be a part of the art project. Okay, there's that. What else? Some more tiny ones. Teeny tiny little flowers on here.

Maybe one over. Maybe one over here for Pebble. And then I'm going to do one more dandelion on here. Be part of the page. You're part the background now. There we go. All right. And then we got one more. Okay. Where's my last ones? Okay, that's part of it. Actually, this is kind of just pretty. Just kind of how it's just the petals. Those petals are just pretty. I think we'll use just some of these petals. Go in with them, Mod Podge it, and place it without it sticking to my thumb. They are kind of falling apart just a little bit cuz they're sticking to my fingers. My fingers are sticky with Mod Podge.

Okay, let's see. Let's see how that looks. Cuz right now, I think that looks so springy and pretty. I think that looks really good. All right. So, here's Bassie. Yes. And little Pebble right in the flowers. I feel like Pebble there could be a little bit more. Should I do it this way? Cuz I almost feel like Bassie fits best in this larger spot. That's kind of cute. I can have the page go this way. I think that is so cute. I'm going to glue them on like that. That's what I'm going to do. Okay. So, now I'm going to make sure all the flowers are glued on. So, I'm going in with my Mod Podge now like crazy and I'm really sealing these flowers in. So,

everything is getting sealed down, completely sealed, because I don't want to have any flowers pop up over the years. I'm hoping that this will just stay. So, glue everything down. Lots and lots of Mod Podge. Seal everything. There we go. Nice thick coats of Mod Podge so it really makes everything just stay down and it goes in between every single little petal there. That's what I love about junk journaling is there are no rules. You can go as crazy and as wild and experimental as you want, you know, with anything with drawing, painting, poems, songwriting, lyrics.

All right, last flower. Seal that one down. And then I'm sealing Bassie. Now Bassie is going to get sealed in here. Yeah, it's time for Bassie. So, Mod Podge the back. Pick a spot for her to be. She's going to be right here in between the flowers. She looks so cute. All right, Pebble. Where do you want to be, Pebble? Right here. We'll put Pebble right there. Oh, that page is wet with Mod Podge. I'm going really have to make sure this dries. All right, Pebble is going in. Pebbles's got those flowers right behind him. Like that. Okay. And then now a layer of Mod Podge on top of both of the tunes bind them forever with the background page.

Seal them in. Oh yeah, this paper is wet. It is soaked with Mod Podge. All right, I'm going to let this dry and I will check in on it now. Let's check it out. Let's see how this junk journal page looks in my little book here. So, let's find it. And there it is. Yes, this was really fun doing this. I just wanted to try this technique. And as spring kind of goes along, I think I'm going to collect even more flowers, press them and dry them and add them to the book. So, I'll probably continue to layer on this page, you know, cuz it looks like, you know, the yellow obviously from the dandelion is, you know, really

dominating the page. But, I'm thinking if I layer some other little flowers on here, this has extreme potential of being just I don't know, really cool looking. Just really cool. It's really fun because this page is very textured now. And that's what I love about junk journals is whenever you add in texture, it really to me enhances my journals. Like I really like them. So it's perfect. It's junky. It's creative. It's fun. It's nature. It's it's Dandy's world. It's bassy. So yeah, I'm going to keep building on this page definitely and adding some more flowers in. So, thank you for watching and happy
