Good morning t ladies. MY NAME IS JACK SEP THE GUY AND WELCOME to a demo actually of a game called Shutter Story. I remember seeing this going around on Twitter last year at some point and I was really interested in it and I completely forgot about it until it popped up on my feed again, but it's a game where you see like family pictures and then you have to adjust exposures and contrast and everything to see if there's something paranormal happening in the background, which I think is a really cool idea for a game. I don't think we've ever really seen somebody do that before. Oh, knock. Hi. Oh, you're here. Thank God. I've been waiting, man. Did you get Oh, hi, Marianne. Hi. Welcome. Now, Eli, why are you making your friend wait outside,

you little [__] [__] Come on in. We've been waiting for you. Nice, wholesome family. Yoohoo. Hey there, kid. Good to see you again. Hey, come take a seat. I want to talk to you. Whoa, look at these family photos. What's up, kid? Who's the guy with the baby? Mom's brother. He's staying for a few days. Listen. Did you get it? The software? Yep. Will it work? Of course it will. As long as you've got the photos ready. Oh, damn it. I forgot about the photos. Relax. I'm good at this stuff.

I think your house is haunted already. I don't really need to look at anything cuz the way people are moving in here is freaky. Food's ready. Everyone come. I told you. Oh god. Oh no. Rob, would you? I got it. Sorry about that. The wiring in this house. I don't know what's wrong with it. You have a [__] ATOMIC BOMB SHADOW on your wall. What do you mean? This place is all kinds of weird. Everything just keeps breaking down all the time. It looks great to me, Miss Wells. Why thank you. I try This bit of mold, though. It just appeared out of nowhere. I try and keep everything so clean. Come on, Mary. I'm

sure he doesn't want to hear about our household problems. I You want to turn the TV off for a bit, honey? It's important. The market might finally recover this year. Sick, dying baby. It's going to give it to us all and we're all haunted. Oh no. What? She sneezed, Tom. That's all. Of course, she's not eaten in a few hours. Is that normal, sis? She's full because I fed her an hour ago. She's fine, right? Sorry. Still figuring this out. I don't know how people make this look easy. How's the photography stuff going, kid? Great.

I've been getting into uh I've been experimenting with different styles. I hear photojournalists get paid well. Oh, you're a photographer. Wow. Going out there in the world and bringing the truth to us. I think that's noble. I want to be really good at it. And I think I've got the talent. I want to take a photo. that's remembered years from now. Capture something no one's seen before. That's the right mindset. Stick with that attitude and you'll do just fine. Your friend here has been dipping his toes into music. He tell you that. I just started last week. No, you have. What instrument? The tuba. I'll be honest. Not what I expected to walk out

with from the music store. I'm proud of him. I always wanted to get into music, but never had the time. It's good to have hobbies. Aren't tubas crazy expensive? Shall we head in? Oh, of course. Listen to us droning on. You two have plans to try out that what do you two have plans to try out that new video game, don't you? Game. It's a software actually. A soft game. Yes. Software game. Come on. Let's go. Awkward. Very awkward. Come on. It's in my bedroom. Marianne. Marannne, why are you just staring at the mold? Marianne?

Damn. Piece of [__] Oh, hi. I didn't see you there. Shoo. Now, I'd rather you didn't see this until the wall's all cleaned up. That's a dead person for sure. Y'all ever watch the movie Pulse? Helen [__] herself again. That or it's the baby? You never really know. Milk bottle at 6:00 p.m. Bed by 7:00. Or was it at 8:00 p.m.? Oh god, I should call home and ask again. I think I would be the same having a kid. I would be panicking all the time. I panic all the time about my own health. Hey, what's up, kiddo? Well, what was that all about? What's got you so on edge? What's got me I told you about the photos, right? You said you saw a face in one of your old

photos. Whatever I saw it, it wasn't normal. Sure you didn't see a reflection, man. That was just flipping through I was just flipping through the album when I saw it. I quickly went back to it, but it was gone. How's it even possible? It's not just the photos. Weird stuff's been happening around the house lately, right? The mold, the power cut. This one time, there were dozens of worms crawling out of the toilet. Worms. But when I came back with dad, they were gone. You told them. I tried. They won't listen. So now you're my only hope, Luke Skywalker. If we show them some proof, something in the photos, then maybe. Trust me. I want to believe you. Imagine a real paranormal photo.

I mean, as long as everyone's safe, of course. I don't know, man. Something's not right in this house. Not for the past few months. I feel like the walls are talking to each other. Planning something. Let's stick to the photos for now. You've added the scans to your computer, right? Let's take a look. All right. Holy God, that was an earthquake. Bigger this time. Everything is fine, kids. Carry on. It's It's not I don't think that was an earthquake. I think that was localized entirely within this house. Raymond Morgan. Helen Morgan. Is that Helen? Who's in there? Thomas and Marianne. Robert.

Oh, I can move. Jin Lee Morgan. We don't know them. Arthur Morgan. You know what? Dutch. Walter Morgan. Edith. What remains of Edith Finch? Big family tree that has nothing filled in. Okay, let's see what we got. Nice heart. These are all the photos we have. If I transfer them to the PC like you asked, I added in the captions my moment written for them in the albums. Hopefully that helps. Great. Let's see what we can find here, shall we? Hey there. Welcome to Spectralaware. Oh, Clippy is a tool that helps you hunt for hidden anomalies, specters, and ghosts in photos and videos with the help of a

variety of filter and exposure settings. Play with the different settings and see if anything shows up spooky. This handy guide can help you identify what kind of haunting you're looking at. If you see something, mark it as haunted and select an anomaly type from the checklist. Apparition or impossible events. Otherwise, if you don't see anything, mark it as safe. Remember, hauntings are rare. Most photos don't contain a haunting. Not sure what kind of an anomaly it is? Check the guide. But remember, once you've made a choice, you can't go back until the analysis is complete. So, make sure you've got it right before hitting submit. Happy haunting. That's cool.

It's a very fun idea for the game. Whoa. Okay. What does contrast look like with this? Oh, yeah. Oh, this one for sure. This combination is definitely going to find some [__] for us. Okay. I thought that was a face. I thought we were seeing [__] already. Yeah, I imagine these ones are completely fine just to get us started, you know. Wow, what horrible looking faces you guys have. Um, let's see. Oh my god, my eyes are playing tricks on me now. I don't know if I see anything.

Okay, there's nothing in that, right? I mean, unless the baby's haunted. Your faces kind of look haunted, honestly. Rob, newborn Eli and I 3 days after Eli's birth. What did this one say? Eli in Mexico. Okay. It's cool to get a bit of story as you're going as well. Where am I going to get my first haunting? Is it sitting right in front of me all this time and I can't see it? Wait, what's this thing? Oh, I'm expecting like people and faces. I didn't expect this kind of [__] Oh god, maybe I have missed something.

Birthday boy waiting for his favorite breakfast. Okay, guide. Apparitions are the actual ghosts. Yeah, apparitions are most recognizable indicators of paranormal presence. Commonly referred to as ghosts, these humanlike entities may manifest in a variety of ways, and not all are obvious at first glance. Common indicators of apparition activity include spirits, unidentified individuals, or doppelgangers. Too much to read? Hit the summarize button to get a shorter summary of each haunting type. No, I want to read. Unless Oh god. Okay, this actually is a lot of [__] Spirits appear in many forms, often taking the form of a translucent

people. They are non-physical souls of deceased. Spirits have discernable facial features, clothing, and detail, though may appear blurred in case of movement. Okay, so these ones are pretty obvious. Whoa, that one's cool. It's possible to make a living person. It's impossible to mistake. Oh my god. It's possible to mistake a living person for a ghost due to long exposure in cameras. To rule this out, check whether there is any mention of this person in the photos caption. Clever. Since they're semi-transparent, apparitions often blend into shadows or overexposed areas. In dark areas, raise exposure and contrast or apply the negative or I don't have that filter yet to make them visible. Drop the exposure

if the image is too bright. Right. Ordinarily, there'd be nothing unusual about that photo bomber in the back. This except you took this photo in your home and no one else was there. Oh, this that we were talking about this. I don't know. Uh, this might appear normal, but they couldn't have been present at the time. They may also appear in incompletely formed and disembodied limbs, heads, or other body parts. The thing I have floating in the air looks like a knife or a floating rod. They may resemble someone you know posing as if they belong. Your brother who lives in another country, a friend long deceased, or someone already in the photo twice.

Cool. Oh, wait. Is this the photo bomber? Mrs. Chang's daughter took this photo of her, only to notice her father clearly visible in the background after developing it. But Mr. Chang was away in London at the time. Did the anomaly take his form to appear safe and familiar? Cool. The father of the girl in the foreground took this photo on a private property with no one else present at the time. Only after development was the faint figure behind the shed wearing historic clothing of Victorian style was noticed. That is really hard to see. Observe closely to catch these anomalies. Check the date and location of the footage.

Does the subject belong? Have they been mentioned in the caption? Check for extra hands or limbs. Impossible events. Not many things are as chilling as seeing a fully formed ghost in a photograph, but hauntings often manifest in more subtle ways. Sometimes it's something that simply defies logic. Anything that makes you go, "Wait, that doesn't make sense." Goes under this category. Autonomous objects and reality glitches. Yeah, this [__] This what I'm seeing. Okay, let's summarize this page and see what it says. Ah, objects that move or float with external influence or defy the laws of physics. No filters and no exposure tips. False positives. Checks

for logical source. Could it have fallen, thrown, or moved naturally? Each photo is unique. Whoa. Reality glitches. Giant deer. Glitches are a logical phenomenon that is not possible in the real world. Objects are creatures with possible scale or form. Examples: clock with extra hands, indoor rain, giant animals, and vortexes or portals. Okay, that was it. So, this is haunted and you're an impossible event, right? Okay. Baby Eli helping out in the kitchen. All right, Baby Eli, what we got?

I don't think we got anything, Baby Eli. Everything in this photo looks pretty damn normal to me, honestly. Unless there's something in the negative. Something in a reflection somewhere, maybe. Nah, no. I think we Gucc. I mean, I saw the pictures and I was like, wait, they're odd. Wait, what's this? Oh, it's the edge of the counter. Okay, I think that one's clear. Oh, you definitely have something going on back there. Oh, for sure. Yeah, look at that. You see that? Yeah. Who's that [__] weirdo?

Oh, you can't see him in the negative. Oh, cool. Okay, so you're an apparition. [bell] MARIAN, [screaming] WHAT? What happened? Oh [__] He out of here. What happened? Oh god, she's fallen and she can't get up. Oh my god. Grandma, what happened? What is wrong with me? Oh god. Relax, Tom. It was a mistake. Did she fall? Shouldn't we take her to the hospital? It was my mistake. I can't do anything right. Oh god. Shouldn't we call an ambulance? Tom, breathe. Long breaths. H. That baby's haunted. Look at that baby, y'all.

H might not be the worst idea. And what? An ambulance. She's fine, Eli. She just fell. Fine. She's not fine. All right, let's calm down a second. Grandma's [__] dead. She may be blinking, but she's dead. Look at her. She's not even breathing. She's also wearing the background to a Spongebob episode. Let's get her to bed first. Eli, if anything seems off, I'll call the family doctor. Okay, I've told you all before something is wrong with this house. Oh, don't start with your ghost stories again now, Eli. Hey, man. Can you get a print of that last photo we looked at? We should show it to them.

G. Yeah, I'm on it. How do I print that [__] Does that mean this house is haunted? I don't want to be here then. Check this [__] out. Mom, look at this photo. Do you see it? Do you see the face in the background? We were alone that day. Uh, my photo. What am I supposed to be looking at here? There's a face. Can't you see it? Eli, why don't you get back to your games? We'll get grandma to bed. Okay, son. [__] don't listen. It's not fine. Everything is not fine. She just won't admit it. I don't know why.

We need more photos with clearer evidence. Something they can't ignore. I don't know why. I feel like things are about to get much worse very soon. I'll figure this out. Don't you worry. Guide entry unlock spectral forms. Do I get to find out if I did something right? Um, wait. How do I go back to the other thing? He didn't Oh, guide special forms. Um. Ooh. Just like shadows, light shadows and dark shadows. A haunting presence may appear on camera in the form of a wispy mistlike shapes or dark

unidentified shadows. These differ from apparitions in that they appear gaseous and lack texture or clear definition with soft faded edges. Common indicators of spectral form include mists and shadow people. Identification. White cloudy gaseous forms may have human outlines or appear formless. Unlike apparitions, they lack identifiable features or clothing. No. Oh, I need negative for these. Gotcha. Lower exposure and raise contrast to separate from bright backgrounds. I swear to God, is my brain melting out of my head? Why can't I speak anymore?

Each photo is unique. Don't hesitate to experiment. Could it be smoke or fog? If so, is there a logical source for either nearby? Oh, this is a cool picture. Shadow people are mists darker counterparts. Dark counterparts of mist that may appear semi-transparent or solid black. Remain dark even under a light source. May have human silhouettes but lack identifiable features or clothing. Move in quick abrupt patterns. Oh, I need two more filters for those. Lower exposure and raise contrast to separate from bright backgrounds. Okay, you got it. Not seeing anything in this one. Let's head TO THE NEGATIVE. OH, DIP.

OH, WAIT. That's just his shadow. Look at these [__] demon eyes. Demon baby, right? Like that doesn't count cuz it's just their shadows on the back of the wall from the flash. Save. I mean, you guys look haunted already. Oh, definitely something going on in here. Are you kidding me? That's a shadow person right there. Spectral form. Hey there, Johnny. How we doing? Oh, I didn't even read any of these. Sorry. Thomas, mom, dad, and I don't remember where this is from. Mom, sometime just before she married. I like that we're getting story as this goes along.

Grandpa Elias during the war. Was Grandpa Elias hiding? Huh? Some [__] 1942. So, World War II. I think Grandpa Elias is fine. Except this, but I don't know what that is. That doesn't seem noteworthy enough to be anything, you know. Uh, it might be something. I might be wrong. We might get this one wrong, y'all. Oh, this is ripe for ghostage. Dad at his new job in the factory. What is dad doing at his new job in the factory? Huh? Where does dad think he's going with all those boxes? To a ghost town.

Okay, I actually don't see anything. Oh, I can zoom. Oh [__] Okay, well this just blew the [__] door off. That means I could have missed stuff in the other pictures. I don't think there's anything in this one. I think we're okay. Hey there. Looks like you've uploaded your first video. Nice. When analyzing videos, it's important to get a hang of the media control button. Something spooky could be hiding in any frame. The anomaly categories are the same as in the photos, so make sure to check the guide whenever you're stuck. And as always, happy haunting. This is cool.

We can go like frame by frame, but let's watch the whole thing first. Okay. I didn't see anything wrong with any of that. Let's bring up the exposure in the dark area. Anything? Oh, I like that I can scrub manually. Yeah. I mean, some artifacting is going on, but not really enough to be considered a ghost. Oh my god. Am I just missing the obvious? Whoa. Jesus. Oh. Apparition spectral form. There's a black blobby in THE MIDDLE OF IT. UNLESS THAT COUNTS as a Is that an impossible event? Because it looks more like a vortex than a person.

Yeah, spectral forms have to be like mists or shadow people. That doesn't look like a people. Okay. What are vortexes then? Vortexes and because it doesn't seem to have the warbling. I'm just going to say a spectral form. 1920s great-grandparents and grand aunt possibly taken a few days after immigrating. Creepy picture. Is there somebody else in the picture with you? Okay. great grandparents and grand aunt. So, one, two, three. Must be taking a few days before. Okay.

Sometimes I just really want there to be something haunty in it, but sometimes I'm just not getting what I want. Is there anything impossible going on? Anything moving? Glitches? I don't think I see anything in that. Do you guys? If there's anything I missed, by the way, please time stamp it and put it in the comments because I really am curious. Oh, I can just scroll. Oh, so much easier. Okay, this looks like a good mix to try and find something like maybe this is something, but honestly, it just looks like a plant.

Are they legs? What am I It's a plant. I think this one's safe, but I've been wrong before. Come on. You have to have some sort of [__] person behind you. Look at this type of photo. These are always haunted, even when they're not. Uh 1920s, great grandpa, grand aunt, and file I'm corrupted. Okay. So, I don't know how many people are supposed to be in this picture. Wait. 1920s great-grandparents and grand. So, the grand aunt is the kid. I think you're a ghost. Apparition. Just mark them all as apparitions at the church with mom and dad. And who else?

Is there room for Jesus? Probably. I don't know. What is going on here? Why is there like road? Reality glitches. Impossible scale or form. For example, clock indoor rain, giant animals, vortex or portals. This to me looks like it's wrong. I'm like in the church but outside the church. What do you mean? I mean, I don't know. That could be. Whoa. Guide entry unlocked. Similacra. [__] It's so much Rob and I on our honeymoon. When do I get to know if I'm right or wrong? Or do I?

Oh Jesus. Right, let's look at the guide. What's the new thing we just got? Similacra. A presence may reveal itself by forming the likeness of a face or a human or a humanlike figure within trees, clouds, or man-made structures like floors and walls. Often resembling religious iconography. These manifest of their own accord. Further evidence of the unexplainable breaking into our rational world. Common indicators of similacra include faces. Oh lord, these are going to be really hard for me to pick out. These are like the colorblind tests that I can't do. Perhaps the most recognizable instance of similacra, the bmese faces appeared on the floor of a house in Spain. Isn't that what's going

on in the house that I'm in? With human like human face-like discoloration emerging on the tiles, their unexplained appearance have made them one of the most debated paranormal phenomena of the 20th century. It's Jibus and something. Oh, come on. That could be anything. Face-like images formed by textures are natural patterns. They are large and structured enough to be noticed and recognizable, not microscopic or hidden away. Okay, I need negative filters for this. Raise contrast to make them clearer. Check for full and proportional facial features. So, is there one here?

I'm gonna have to comb every [__] inch of this place cuz these are just reflections. Any faces popping up? Rob and I on our honeymoon. Okay. Was there somebody else on your honeymoon with you? Like a face? I don't see anything. I don't think there's anything of that. Oh, dip. Ho. It moved on its own. Okay. So, wait. Will I see something going by? What do I put this in as an impossible event? Cuz it's just reform ghost and photographies manifest more subtle ways. Sometimes it's just something that just simply defies logic.

Wait, that doesn't make sense. Goes under this category. Yeah. Autonomous objects or reality glitches. Yeah. Whoops. Uh, so impossible event. Get out of here. Filter unlocked. Night vision. Oh. Oh. Baby Eli with his grandpa. Oh. Oh, I see. Cuz there's [__] up in the windows. Okay, let me just go through the rags first. Not really seeing anything. Is that something there? Not really. All right. What are we looking at except your freaky [__] faces.

Um. Oh god. There's so much to look at in this photo that's [__] me up. Like now I feel like I'm just missing really obvious [__] There's nothing there, right? Do you have a face on your shirt? Eli with mom and dad. So there's no like extra people. I think that's safe. Oh, video. I mean, that could just be the wind, right? like your windows open. All right, this one seems prime time for some night vision. Yeah. [screaming] OH, that's freaky. I don't like that. He stares at you all night.

Okay. Um, you I think are an apparition, right? Or you could be shadow person, but you seemed like you had a face. Could this be the work of a shadow person outside of the frame? Recommended filters, low exposure, and raise contrast. Lack identifiable features. Yeah. It's one or the other. You kind of have a face. You can see it more when I like scrub. That's a face. That's an apparition. Jesus. Okay. Nothing, I guess. I thought we had something hiding out back there. Nah, that seems pretty plain. Hey. Hey, man. Come take a look at this. Okay, I need a break.

Hey, check this out. I want to show you something. What is it, Eli? You want to go walkies? What is it, boy? Oh, he's gone. What the hell? Worms. I told you, didn't I? What are you two doing here? Eli, what's wrong with you? Why would you show something like this to our guest? But mom, remember what I told you about the worms in the bathroom? This isn't normal. Eli, they're worms. They're attracted to damp places. You know that, right? But you know how he gets, right? This wall just needs managing. It's nothing unusual.

Is it supposed to sound like squaltching? Wall squatches squaltches wetly. Rob's booked a professional to take a look at it tomorrow. Nothing to worry about here. Now go both of you. I have some cleaning up to do. Come on, man. This is hopeless. Gross. Gross to the max. What's the What the baby doing? That baby's haunted as [__] Oh, easedropped. I can't. I always mess up. I wish Mary could take care of her. She's always been good at this. I'm I'm sorry. You don't deserve that. It's just I feel like the world is going to explode.

No, I ran out of them yesterday. I didn't get a chance. Okay, you're right. I'll go right now. I [snorts] wish you were here. Oh, man. Sad dad. TM. I know her. They're not going to listen to us. And if even if we show them more photos, they'll just say we edited in like or something. No one takes us seriously just because we're kids. What now? We could do this on our own. What? Get rid of whatever is haunting this house.

How? The software. It analyzes our submissions. So [snorts] once we're done categorizing, it'll give us a final result. What result? The right process for whatever entity is haunting this house. The right exorcism process. I hope this works. [__] yeah. You found seven out of eight hauntings. You missed one. One of those were correctly marked haunted, but with the wrong category type and one safe photo were incorrectly marked haunted. Oh, I'm hoping that when the full game is out that you get much more clear indications as to what each thing is instead of just being like, you marked one thing wrong. I want to know what and where and why. I really like that. I

think that's a great twist on this type of game. This reminds me of Mortuary Assistant. Just taking those mechanics and that idea and putting them into a different format, which I absolutely love. Mortuary Assistant is incredible. That's like how Slender Man started was one of these photos. Someone edited it really well and it looked really cool and I love that stuff. There's such a tangibility to all of it. So, I'm really excited about the rest of this game, what it has to offer. So, yeah, if you want to go back the game, it ends on March 21st. We might be able to push this video earlier. I have a bunch lined out because I'm traveling to LA for next week. I'm recording ahead, but I'll

try and get this one out before then so we can have the audience kind of like chime in and back it on Kickstarter. What's What's it at right now? Okay, it's at 8,737. Well, this is in pounds. You'll see a different number when you go, but 8737 out of 11331. So, but it's almost there. So, I think we can help out. Anyway, thank you guys so MUCH FOR WATCHING THIS. I'LL play the full game whenever it's out. I think it's a really interesting one to watch. But for now, thank you
