Hello, friends! This is Max, your Russian teacher. And today we're going to have a lesson-a lesson right outside, where we'll practice and learn Russian. Today you'll see everything from a first-person perspective, okay? First-person. The view will be from a first-person perspective. And we'll walk around the neighborhood where I currently live. It's in the north of Spain, in the city of Oviedo. And we'll have two simple tasks. The first task is to take out the trash. And the second task is to pick up my order from the pickup point.
Let's get started. Okay, first, I need to grab my trash bags. I have one bag. well, actually, I wouldn't even say "bag," I'd call it more of a bag. This is a bag. a plastic bag of trash, and this is a paper bag of trash. But it's not just any trash. Here I have paper and cardboard, and here I have plastic and various packaging. That's it. Because they're all recycled differently, and each bag needs to be thrown into a specific container. So now we're heading first to where the recycling bins are.
We're walking through the neighborhood where I live. It's a fairly new neighborhood. It seems to me that these buildings were built in the 2000s or 2010s. Overall, it's a fairly new neighborhood, and I honestly really like it. There are plenty of green spaces here-like this, for example. There are some small parks and shops. Overall, I'm completely happy with this neighborhood. I think it's a great place to live with a child because there are schools nearby.
By the way, look up ahead, there's a building-that's a school. That's a school up there. I don't know which one exactly, but it's a school. And now we've come to the bins. The bins or the containers. I'd call it either a "bin" or a "container." So, we need to figure out where to throw out the paper and plastic. I see that we have paper here, so we put our bag in that bin. Okay. And here's another container, here we have plastic and packaging - we'll drop our plastic bag here. Okay, the first quest is complete. Now we're going to the bar. Yes, we're going to the bar, friends.
Why the bar? Let's probably go there. Why the bar? Because there's an Amazon pickup point. a pickup point. an Amazon delivery point there. I recently ordered a new battery. Or, I guess we'd more often say, "battery." I ordered a new battery for my camera, and now I want to go and pick it up from the pickup point. I usually try not to order. if possible, not to order goods with home delivery. Because here in Spain, well, as I understand it, and in the EU in general, I guess, they just tell you. in most cases, they just tell you the day
when your. when your order will be delivered. For example, tomorrow. And during the day, a courier will come to you, and you have to sit at home all day - it's terribly inconvenient. I still can't get used to this system, because in Russia there was always some period, like, I don't know, from noon to three, or three to six, or six to nine, for example, and you could choose two or three hours whenever it suited you. But here, I don't know how people, if they don't work from home, how they even order anything home. Because, well, you order something for tomorrow, and your order could arrive either the following day-in the
morning, or in the evening, or in the afternoon-or it could even arrive one or two days earlier or later, and you wouldn't know it. In short, I still can't get used to it, but it's not a big deal, it's not a problem, because there are pickup points. And we're heading to one of those points now. The weather today is amazing. Twenty. I don't know what it is. Twenty-two, probably? Mid-March-twenty-two degrees. Many of the trees have already finished blooming, but some, like this one, for example, are just beginning. Oh, no, this one isn't beginning, by the way. This one is also just finishing blooming.
You see, little green leaves are appearing. Little leaves are appearing, well, or leaflets, I guess it's better to say. "Leaves," "little leaflets" - well, whatever. Leaves, little leaflets, little leaflets. Usually, a leaf is probably a piece of paper. It's funny, we have several words. A leaf can be a leaf of a tree or a piece of paper, for example, A4, yes. A sheet of. A sheet of A4 paper. But we also say "leaflet" - it's a diminutive form. And we say "listik" - also a diminutive form. In general, there are several different ways to call a leaf. So. Now we need to cross the road here, and we'll do it here.
We'll do it here, because we need to go in that direction. You need to go where everyone goes. We have a big stadium here. Different teams often play football here. I'm not a big football fan, to be honest, but sometimes I like watching football, especially when national teams play. For example, at the World Cup. at the 2018 World Cup, I supported the Russian team. I also worked at that World Cup. By the way, I have a few videos from there. But at the 2022 World Cup. At 22 or 23? I think at 22.
Damn, okay. I'm bad with dates, friends. I think it was at 22, yes, there was a World Cup when Argentina won. And then I was in Argentina and, of course, I was supporting Argentina. But in general, I rarely watch football. I rarely watch it. By the way, at the end of March, I think there was supposed to be an Argentina-Spain match, but I think it was cancelled. I need to check, but I think it was cancelled. Too bad. Oh, I'd love to watch that match! Who do you think I'd root for? By the way, there are a lot of bars here. But I don't need that bar, I need the one in the courtyard. I mean, we're going to walk into the courtyard right now.
There are shops here. There's a fruit store here. There are just residential buildings here. How do you like this kind of neighborhood? Would you want to live in a neighborhood like this? Or do you like. I don't know. Or do you like other neighborhoods, well, ones that look different? In general, these. this neighborhood reminds me a little, just a little, of the neighborhoods that. the new neighborhoods that were actively popping up and being built up when I was still in Russia, that is, a few years ago.
I even had a video about one such neighborhood, and. you can watch it. Basically, everything is more or less similar. Also a lot of asphalt, a lot of houses. But the difference is, the main difference is that here the buildings are mostly five, well, maybe seven stories at most, while there they're twenty or twenty-seven stories, and, of course, that creates a lot of problems. First of all, you can't. well, you can't find a free parking space like that. Look, here there are one, two, two free parking spaces.
There are practically none there. And, of course, the number of people is ten times, I don't know, more. Disproportionately more people there. Oh, by the way, look, the playground is here. Let's go there, we'll get to the playground. That's why. Well, by the way, you can already see from here that further on you can see these taller buildings, maybe ten, twelve stories. But they're standing, like, one by one, and they don't create such a dense wall. excuse me, a dense wall, yes, of tall buildings, which I think is, well, extremely terrible. But the development here is great.
So, you have one relatively tall building, then some low-rise buildings, you can see the mountains, you can see nature, you can even-look over there-the horizon. I don't know, I like it. I think this type of development is really, really, really convenient for living. True, well, unlike, for example, new areas in Russia, there are quite a few different commercial spaces and various shops, I don't know, some bars, restaurants. I mean, in Russia they're everywhere, like, dun-dun-dun, at every turn, but here there are fewer. And, for example, I have to walk ten minutes to the pick-up point for my order.
Well, of course, that's a small problem. But it's clear that in Russia, in new buildings. well, more accurately, in new areas where there are a lot of new buildings, there are more different. I don't know what to call them. Shops and everything else. On the other hand, it's practically impossible to get out of them because there are always traffic jams. Okay, now let's go into this bar and get my order. Unfortunately, I couldn't pick up my order because the owner of the bar-he's the bartender there, he works there-he's sick.
He has a high temperature, so he's not at the bar. And the problem is, he has a device that can, well, scan my order and I can get it. So, technically, it's not possible to pick up the order today, unfortunately. But that's a minor issue; I don't need this battery right now, so I can wait. Let's walk around some more. Let's talk about what else we have here in this area. Well, as I already said, there are lots of bars and cafes, lots of green spaces. Look at all the greenery. It's a bit of a shame that this area isn't being used in any way, that there's no path
for you to walk around somehow. But still, it's still great that there's so much greenery, I like it. I like having space. I don't like it when one building is right next to another and you have no air at all, Yes, there's no space. And by the way, look, we can see how the process happens. I don't even know how to say it. Basically, how they take out all the trash that we throw into these containers. A special vehicle comes, lifts that bin, and throws the trash here. Basically, it's a well-oiled system. It's really cool. And over here, it's kind of a center. kind of the center of our neighborhood,
because. It's kind of a circle here, see? Well, I don't know, maybe it's hard to see, but here, there's a square in the shape of a circle. There are various playgrounds here, various events take place here, and. Well, and people just, I don't know, sit on benches, walk around here. There are trees here, and a lot of asphalt. You can ride a bike, rollerblade, do something else. Sabrina, my daughter, really loves that playground over there. She's crazy about it.
Every time she tells me, "Daddy, let's go to the big playground!" She loves it very much. I like that you can see the mountains from everywhere. Oh, I love nature. The neighborhoods there are different. They seem to be even more, like, modern. At least the houses there look nicer. Well, that's what our neighborhood where we live looks like. I like it. It's very peaceful here, very quiet, safe. There are no problems with, I don't know, with parking, if you have a car.
Well, maybe there is some problem, but still. There are no traffic jams, because the buildings are low and the population density is not high here. That is, sometimes there are too many people, too many cars, and all the roads are simply clogged, but here there is no such thing - that's good. People are relaxing on the terrace, drinking beer, coffee, cider. Well, by the way, I don't see anyone drinking coffee. I see cider. Oh, no, they drink coffee too, okay. Cider, coffee, beer. Well, I think that's all for today, friends.
This is what the neighborhood where I live looks like, I wanted to show it to you. I wanted to come with you to pick up my order, but it's a shame I couldn't. By the way, look how many flowers there are. The white ones are daisies, and the yellow ones are dandelions. Dandelions and daisies. Insanely beautiful. So many flowers! I don't think I've ever seen so many. They were there even in winter, there were just fewer of them, but now there are an absolutely incredible number of them.
There you go. I've never seen so many flowers, just. just growing on the lawn. I'm really impressed. Well, time to go home, friends. See you in the next video. Bye-bye!
