Mute Swan Mother Defends Nest from Rival Offspring

A mute swan mother incubating 10 eggs leaves her nest to chase away a rival swan, which turns out to be her own offspring from the previous year. After successfully defending her territory, she returns to the nest to continue incubation, restoring peace temporarily.

This female swan is incubating 10 eggs, and this is her mate. But unbeknownst to her, he's been courting another female swan nearby. And she is heading this way. Now, this is going to be interesting because the intruder is actually their offspring from 2023. The female postures, leaving the nest and giving chase around the reed bed. And thankfully, all the eggs look okay. With the intruder seen off, the female joins him back on the nest. Peace has been restored for now.
