Well, the hotly contested 35th district state senate seat will be decided on by voters today. The district covers parts of Bay, Midland, and Sagena counties, and the seat has remained vacant for more than a year. Republican Jason Tunny and Democrat Cheddrick Green are the two major candidates on the ballot. Control of the state senate is at stake. Well, this morning Tommy filled out and turned in his ballot at Sagnot Township Fire Station 1 on Shadic Road. When asked why he feels people should vote for him, he encouraged voters to go with who they trust. Well, again, I think, you know, honesty and integrity matter. I think quality of the candidate matters. Those are important things. And Democratic candidate Chedrick Green
also filled out his ballot this morning at Peace Lutheran Church in Sageno. Green says it's vital that voters get out today and give their input because it will have a big impact on the future. The most important thing is to make sure that our residents are out voting because it wants to be taken away from us and we can't let that happen. Now, whoever wins this race between Jason Tunny and Chedric Green will finish out the current term, which ends in January.
