so i just finished my cattle station work and i come back to brisbane and this is the hostel that i stayed in and it has the guilty rug pub underneath and this is where we met um it was just complete coincidence really that we were the last two what three of us were standing to be honest at the end of that night oh mate look how sunny it is as well okay sonny should we go inside to have a look inside yeah really good rip sydney you were obsessed he just arrived basically at our table what was your mate's name i don't remember it oh that's great i mean there was a lot of drugs of beer to yeah he was a kiwi and um he wasn't a backpacker no he was a minor wasn't he worked in the mines yeah he worked in the mines
no oh no so yeah i met this guy and he was just a real nice guy and yeah i could drink though jesus and we were all there on a long table like me and loads of people um it was a quiz tonight there was a quiz what was that i don't think we were playing the quiz no um we were just standing along table halloween quiz night and um it wasn't halloween when we met no it was the night before halloween yeah so it wasn't on the 30th yeah everyone was dressed up though were they we weren't no it wasn't halloween was it we met on the 13th okay because our first date which we'll get to was on the play button this man okay shall we walk because we were basically just there with a bunch of mates from our hostel chill and that's how we met scott because he sat down on the table
and everyone else had to work but i just quit my job that day i think it was that day or a few days before anyway uh so we were just kind of left and i hadn't talked to scott the whole night and we just kind of went outside said goodbye to everyone and we just kind of looked at each other like yup for another drink and he was so new to brisbane that i showed him around eventually he did move in to chill with me so it's like it's up here isn't it yeah yeah let's see if i can it's literally i can't just walk what's it you go past the bus station ah yes there's the bus station on the right yeah i don't remember it being this long why is it so distorted in your head well not yours
you have like an impeccable memory you really do oh yeah and then you got this little green area remember all the bats are used here is um a storage place where we um stored our backpacks oh yeah was that the place and chill is oh hello it's right over here there she is oh man backpackers great hostel if you stay in brisbane really recommend i live there every hostel is all about the people so 100 i mean yeah because it really showed it to us like um when scott moved in here i mean i'd been there for like little bit three and a half months something like that lived in there and we shared a bottom bunk together for like months like how we did that and i just do night shifts for the pig and whistle
and come home stinking of beer stale beer because it like spilled on me and stuff like that because i was so mad because i've drank literally yeah i know you used to think of captain morgan i need to get to there get undressed get into the bum bunk with you and you just roll over like ah pirate breath i remember one time well i don't remember i was asleep but i drank loads of captain morgan's with victor my mate and ali got into bed and rolled me over and i just smashed my head against apparently i just stayed asleep oh mate um beer is really weird when i went back to chill just to stay for a couple of nights yeah i went to do my station work for my 88 days and pop back to brisbane stayed here but the whole thing had changed in the
hospital because there were all new people none of the family and long-termers were there anymore because when i left i was one of the last to leave we're all just kind of splitting up and doing our own thing after three months um and uh yeah people are just like where is everyone we could go to the lagoon outside oh there it is i really i think we only went to the lagoon a few times didn't we it wasn't a regular thing i don't think we're going to be able to go in now was where we used to have our little picnic dates like further down i think around the side yeah there yeah that grass bank yeah ah yes oh mate yeah so we used to just come and have like picnics at the park all the time yeah it's good you just
used to be able to walk along here and just get the beautiful skyline of brisbane yeah it was always sunny for 300 days a year it was just fantastic oh man the weather was brilliant oh god okay so next uh we thought it'd be fun to show you all the way up what we did noosa didn't we no we didn't go to noosa did we get a new session did we stay in that tree house in the national park in new zealand yeah i don't remember my trip news i just remember that when did we hire we hired a car where did you hire a car from wasn't it brisbane it must have been brisbane because that's where we would have drove from wasn't it oh yeah so we went on a bit of a road trip this would have been scott's second time
um harvey bay and there's fraser island can you actually i doubt you're going to be able to drop this man on fraser island oh certain points yeah that's good though oh do you remember this yeah and you go swimming yeah so you'd walk um a little lazy river yeah we got four wheel drive hired one and didn't go on a group tour which 10 out of 10 recommend you've got to be confident in driving for sure but if you are don't go on a group tour see them no i mean if i did it we're not going to go into the stores okay but like beings are so free to camp on the beach you stop when you want to stop and just enjoy every little site for as long as you want to um and then seeing all the like four by four like buses come past they were
crammed and i can't imagine how hot they were in that store like that doesn't it disgust you thinking in 2021 now of being that close to a stranger yeah like really freak you out like you ah this is great and the four by four plays do give you like um a map and you're given a briefing a full safety briefing on how to drive on the island because he's a complete sound either guy was awesome he was quite chilled as well he was yeah this is great this was one of the stops i broke my toe just before doing this so climbing up some of the dunes was real fun so you'd walk all the way to the end and then you could swim it was very shallow though so you'd crawl on your belly for a little bit but it's funny to come all the way back down then oh ellie creek that's what it
was called yeah oh bloody nose mate who bloody knows no so this is the side you'll mainly drive on but i'm sure when we got to the top there was a curve that you could see around i'm sure that's this is the beach you drive up here yeah and then you can't get over onto this side you could walk up there but you wouldn't want it there's cars oh yeah i don't know but over the edge of this cliff here you could see we saw sea turtles yes we did seaside we saw sharks and other big fishy things oh do you want to go to the chicago sharks they have to have water to swim oh there it is all right show off on it yeah that was really cool that was like mega cool that was you get to that's one of your like first little um
oh i can move hey stop running on the beach there's us hello no that's nice we didn't have that nicer for before we had a pink one bright pink bright shoes bright pink grand cherokee jeep what's that what it was yeah your memory it amazes me agnes water this water was nice it was is this where we stayed in that lovely little cabin place i don't think i remember the town though you go to the beach and stuff no this is where we stayed town of 1770's near agnes war isn't it yeah this is where we stayed i'm sure agnes was where we stayed in an apartment yeah um and it had these swimming pools oh it did they were freezing um yeah we did go in oh wow i was turning blue because they were under the shade because it was super hot
but the architecture of that apartment building was terrible so it was always in the shade the water because of the buildings that was terrible design wasn't it was bad oh yeah that's what that's what oh so oh it's where you could take your trip to the with sunday so we didn't come here together because i went to early beach alone to do that okay yes yeah the wit sunday oh would you even go on to whitehaven unbelievably squeaky do you remember the oh mate oh please say you can drop us on here yes oh it's an aerial shot okay oh that's so beautiful i think that's where you go yeah the sand is just madness i know if it's true but apparently that's where they got the sand from to build the hubble telescope because it was so funny it was such pure sand
yeah it would when you'd walk it would squeak yeah like really loud it was weird it was nice it's so fine yeah it's it's unbelievable it's like yeah it's like powder it's like a beach of cocaine oh man that was great we didn't do this trip together you actually did uh with sundays before you even met me didn't you yeah um the coral was not that impressive though but there's a lot of impressive coral that but on the day trip you go you just kind of come here and then they drop you off for a couple of snorkeling rounds yeah that's a very dead and lots of brown broken coral which is a shame it's really sad to see why should we leave it here yeah is that good yeah you enjoy our little trip down memory lane yeah it's
