I've been using XR glasses for a while now and honestly there's nothing like that immersive feeling being able to sit down and block everything around you out and have what feels like a widescreen display right in front of your eyes. It genuinely feels like your own private cinema. And now with the Ver Beast XR glasses, they never look so good. So I know a few of you might be new to XR glasses and thinking, what can I really use them for? And I get you. But there's three ways that I tend to use these. So first is multitasking. Then it's gaming and it's just watching content. So, let me show you how this improves just watching everyday content because I think you might be surprised. Watching
movies and TV shows on this thing is kind of crazy. Carrying the beast literally feels like having a huge screen in your bag or your pocket. All I need to do is plug it into any USBC device that supports display output. And there you go. An entire screen shows up right in front of me. And I'm not talking about a small tiny screen here. I'm talking about a 174in floating display right in front of your eyes. Basically, it's like carrying around a portable cinema wherever you go. I did notice an upgrade though compared to Vic's Luma series and that is the upgraded three do means that the virtual screen in front of you can stay anchored
in place no matter where you move. And it's just like a proper TV that's mounted on your wall. And the best part is that this is all done at hardware level. So there's no drift and you don't need any sort of extra apps that get this working. But that is not your only option. You can have the screen fixed in the same position at all times and track along with your head movement. Or what you can do is you can have follow mode that moves the screen in your line of sight. Honestly though, what I prefer the most here is just having that display fixed in space no matter where you go thanks to that built-in upgraded three do on the Ver Beast. Oh, and while we're talking about watching content,
there's something that these glasses can do that is very cool. You can turn any regular content on YouTube or even your own videos into realtime 3D at just a touch of a button. It's actually very cool to watch. Okay, so I've covered watching content and let me talk to you about the second use that I use these glasses for all the time and that's gaming. Vicious beast glasses have become the perfect companion to my Steam Deck. What I'm about to show you doesn't just work with the Steam Deck, but it works with a bunch of Android phones, iPhones, Windows laptops, MacBooks, and pretty much any other handheld, including the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 if you pick up that optional mobile dock. And if you haven't played a
handheld yet whilst wearing a pair of the Vic XR glasses, then let me tell you, you are missing out. It's like another level of immersion, and it's hard to play my Steam Deck now with these things off my face. For me, what it's about here is being able to sit however I want, get comfortable, and still use a 174 in display, especially since the displays are micro OLED. They're 1,250 nits, which is one of the brightest displays on any XR glasses. That's bright enough to just make the colors pop when playing any sort of games with these on. And I know I'm a little bit behind, but I've only just started playing Marvel, Spider-Man, Miles Morales, and the game looks incredible using these glasses. But one of the other reasons that these games
look so good is down to that new optical setup. Now, what this does is it reduces glare and reflection. So, everything just looks a little bit cleaner and a little bit sharper. Then there's the field of view. So, the Beast has a field of view of 58°, which is the largest you can get on any consumer XR glasses. And what this means is that instead of feeling like you're looking through a small tiny window, it actually feels more of your vision, like a proper display. And let me just mention the sound that you can get out of these glasses because it's pretty incredible. Victory has partnered with Harmon audio for the speakers and they sound very good. You don't need headphones when
playing at home because the audio output from these temples feels like surround sound. Okay, let's move on to the third case that I use these glasses for all the time and it's productivity. I sit in my MacBook for like 15 hours a day moving between multiple windows and tabs. And honestly, I find it very annoying having just one monitor. But with Vic's Space Walker app and the Beast Classics, you can have multiple windows open at the same time. All you have to do is plug them into your phone or your computer and you get the choice of a few different options. You can pick to mirror the display, extend it, or pick between a few other window types.
What I tend to use all the time though is the multi-wind because it saves me so much time having to switch between tabs and windows. And honestly, it kind of changes my workflow a little bit. It's also very useful if I want to work away from my desk because I can take essentially three monitors with me on the go. There's also an ultrawide mode built into the glasses which stretches the display out. So, for video editing or timelines, this just gives me way more room and makes things much easier for me. I won't lie, I'm still getting used to going to a cafe, sitting down, and putting these glasses on. But you know what? In practice, this is uh pretty perfect. What if you have other
Victor glasses? You might be thinking, "What new?" And these glasses actually warrant the name the beast. Well, there are a few good upgrades here. Firstly, the design. It's a signature magnesium aluminium frame. So, they feel even more premium than the Luma series glasses and still also feel very light to wear. Secondly is how these connect. On the older glasses, it was USBC to magnetic connector, which would sometimes come a little bit loose, but now it's USBC to USBC, so you know that cable is never coming out when halfway through a film. There's also some nice upgrades to how you can control these glasses. And these upgrades coming to the beast is exactly what I wanted to see on the older series
of glasses. These controls are way better now. You can switch between anchor mode, smooth follow, and zeroed off with a single tap. And I've been using side mode a lot. You can pin the screen to the corner while you're doing something else like cooking or moving around. Vixer actually calls this your screen your rules. And it does feel like that when you start switching between these different modes. One of the biggest upgrades is to the electrochromic film dimming feature. Firstly, you have a plus and minus button to control the level of tint because now you can pick between nine different levels. On older models, it was either on or off, but with the press of a button, you can now pick your immersion level depending on your
scenario. And the glasses will automatically dim when you look away from your content to another person or if you look down at your keyboard. So, I think this is a great upgrade. And there's also a built-in onscreen menu. So, now you can adjust things like your screen size, refresh rate, and settings directly on the glasses without needing your phone. Previous picture glasses I've had in my hands have been great, but this just feels more complete. The controls are better, the display is cleaner, and everything just works without needing any extra setup. If you want a pair of XR glasses that pretty much do everything you'll ever need, give you great audio, have an amazing
display, and are compact enough to carry pretty much anywhere, then the Viter Beast XR glasses is something that you need to have a look at because I'm going to struggle to live without these things. I'm a big fan of them.
