My friends, welcome to this episode of the Outdoor Gear Review. I hope you all are doing well. As you can imagine, over the years, I have tested out and reviewed a ton of tents. There's one tent that stands out above all of the others. One that I happen to feel is my most favorite, and that tent comes from a company known as One Tigris. It's the One Tigris Cosmo 2 tent. The Cosmeto 2.0 is a really nice tent, folks. It's large, very large, especially for a twoerson tent. It is so big that you can put a folding camp chair inside of it and sit inside of that tent. It is very impressive. At the same time, the quality is very, very good. The materials, they are good. The construction very, very good. Not only
that, but the tent looks great in the urban gray color. And also, it is very inexpensive. For less than $200, it is virtually impossible to find a tent as good as that one. I have looked, I have tested and reviewed and no tint matches the Cosmo 2.0. Obviously, I like the Cosmeto 2.0. Well, everyone, recently it was brought to my attention that One Tigris has brought out the Cosmo oneperson tent. The Cosmo previously was a twoperson tent only. Now, folks, we have a oneperson version. And that is what this episode is all about. The Cosmo oneperson tent. To start off here, we have the storage bag. We have a grab handle down at the bottom. We have a drop pole up here at the top.
Here we have the tent. And as you can see, we have these corded compression straps, which are garbage. Everybody ends up throwing these away. Well, no, correction, most of the time they're left behind at campsites. Anyways, here we have the fly. Here we have the body, tent stakes, guidelines, and here we have tent poles. Let's take a look at the tent stakes and guidelines real quick. It looks like we have four guidelines. And we have 10 tent stakes with corded poles at the top. Next, we have the tent poles, and there should be two of them. A cross support bar along with the main pole system.
We have the tent set up without the fly on. Overall, the setup process is virtually identical to the Cosmo Twoerson tent, and that's a good thing. That tent is very fast to set up, and this one is too. You can easily get this set up within 10 minutes. All in all, very simple. I have to say though, I am surprised at the design of this tent. This is a oneperson tent, but yet it has two doors, one in the front, one on this side over here. I did not expect to see that because with most oneperson tents, you only have one door. Now, when looking at this tent, I can tell you all it's big. This is a lot bigger than your typical oneperson tent. In truth, this is more of a 1 and 1/2erson size tent.
At the same time, it is very tall. As you all could see, we have a ton of mesh that goes all the way around the tent, including up here at the top. We do have some panels that go around the bottom with these doors. They feature basically three zippers in an upside down T formation. Zip, zip, and zip. We have a bathtub floor with tape seams. We have two integrated mesh pockets. We also have a hook at the top for hanging items such as lights and whatnot. And that's about it as far as the inner goes. I tell you what, since we're at this point here, let's go ahead and let's measure this. Let's see how big this really is. Everyone, this tent is huge.
We have a peak height of 39 in, which is 3'9 in. The tent is 34 in wide. And when it comes to overall length, and I'm talking about usable length inside of this tent, we're looking at roughly 6 feet 2 in. So to be safe, if you're 6' 1 in, I think you can make this work. If you're taller than that, I would not go with this tent. with the fly. It buckles into place very easy, very quick. As you can see, the fly has been put on. And this is a big fly because this is a big oneperson tent. We have door number one here, door number two on the other side. We have storm flaps that go over the zippers. And of course, the doors can be rolled back and stored. When you have one door rolled back, you
do have quite a bit of vestable space. And that is true on both sides of this tent. With the Cosmeto oneperson tent, this is obviously a threeseason tent, meaning it was designed for warmer conditions. We have a ton of mesh with the inner with the fly. It pulls away from the body, allowing for good air flow. This tent features two doors, as we've mentioned. It also has two vents that are built into those doors. As of right now, this tent is available only in one color, and you're looking at it. This is the coyote brown color. When it's stored, it measures 21.7 in by roughly 6 in. When it comes to the weight, this is a hefty tent, a hefty oneperson tent, 4.4 lb on my scale. And the reason why this is so heavy is
because of the materials. This is made primarily with a polyester riptop. To be more specific, a 20 daer polyester riptop that features a 2,000 mm hydrostatic head rating. We have a 75 daer nylon floor and a 40 daer nylon mesh along with aluminum poles, aluminum tent stakes, and YKK zippers. And the price of this tent is $146 at the time of filming. That's on Amazon. It looks like the retail price, at least on the One Tiger website, is 150 bucks. With the Cosmo oneperson tent, the construction here is excellent. Every seam is perfect. Every stitch is perfect. The seam tape looks really, really good. In other words, this is a very well-made tent. The company over the last couple of years really has honed the manufacturing
processes of their products. All of their products look good. Not always do the designs make sense. But luckily with this tent here, it does. This is a very well-designed tent. The features make sense and the features are definitely beneficial to the user. Again, this is a more of a one and a half personsiz tent instead of a true oneperson tent. And I think a lot of people are going to appreciate that there's not only enough space inside of this tent for the person who's using it, but there's enough space for gear, maybe a dog, and so on. Plus, you can sit up inside of this tent. You can set up a chair and sit inside of this tent if you wanted to. This is definitely not the longest tent. So,
again, if you're really tall, this is not going to work for you. But, it is very wide and at the same time very tall. The walls do not go in very steeply, but yet more vertical. So, you have quite a bit more space inside of this tent than your typical oneperson tent, and that is greatly appreciated. At the same time, the walls come out and then down instead of going to a point like with most oneperson tents. Again, this translates to a ton of space for the person inside of it. The only real issue that I see with this tent is potentially weight. For a oneperson tent, this is a little bit heavy. 4.4 lb for a oneperson tent. That is on the hefty side. You do have to keep in mind
the overall size of this tent, though. And you also have to keep in mind the materials that were used. This tent is only $150. And in my opinion, the weight, the features, the materials, the size, all of that makes sense for $150 bucks. Talking about the materials, we have a polyester fly, and that's a good thing. If it was still nylon, when it got wet, it would stretch. But because it's made of polyester, you don't have to worry about that. With that being said, I would love to see one Tigris make an ultra light version of the oneperson tent. Use sil polyester so it would be very lightweight and at the same time the material wouldn't stretch. Get rid of one door and try to get the weight
down as low as possible while not stripping this tent of what makes it so good, the size, the ventilation, and so on. The outdoor community is waiting for a company to make a tent that is ultra lightweight, that is also at the same time not ultra expensive. The truth is the vast majority of campers, backpackers, and whatnot, they do not want to go out and spend half a grand on a lightweight tent. They want to spend a whole lot less for obvious reasons. Imagine if one Tigris could make the Cosmeto oneperson ultralight tent, get the weight down to roughly 3 lb and then offer that tent at a reasonable price.
It would rock the foundation of the outdoor universe, so to speak. Anyways, going back to this tent here, I really do like what I see with this shelter. The features are good. Everything makes sense. I am surprised that it features two doors, though. That is of course appreciated, but it does add quite a bit of weight to this tent. In the end, I do like what I see here with this shelter and I'm excited to begin testing it out. Speaking of which, I should have a rain trip with this tent coming up very soon and I cannot wait. Already, this is looking like a winner. Even though I do wish it was lighter weight, I've shared
my thoughts. Now, it's time for you to share yours. Comment down below. What do you all think about the Cosmo oneperson tent? They really should have called it the one and a half person tent because for a oneperson this is quite big. Seriously folks, this tent is very large for a oneperson tent. This is larger than the Nemo Osmo Hornet Elite tent, the twoperson tent that I took a look at and reviewed recently. And that tent is like $700. Granted, it is very lightweight, but it is very, very small. If you enjoyed this episode, please hit the thumbs up. I do appreciate it. Until next time everyone.
Take care. Be well. Strength and honor. Bye for now.
