USS Idaho SSN 799 Commissioned: New Nuclear Submarine Joins US Navy Fleet

If you're an adversary of the United States and of USS Idaho, you should be afraid. We will be there. You won't know it. We will see you. You will not see us. And the first thing you will feel is pressure from a torpedo hitting you. USS Idaho, like the state, is a beautiful, but also like the state of Idaho, it is unbridled. It is untamed. It is wild. And we are hungry for whatever tasking, whatever mission we are given, we will execute with lethality. Why I describe this particular submarine, I think it is the epitome of lethality.

We are the newest submarine commissioned into the fleet, and we have all the technology and all the capability to fill whatever tasking the ship is given. Our mantra and our call on return is sink boats, cut throats. And we will bring that energy, we will bring that enthusiasm, we will bring that aggression to whatever mission we are tasked with. The only thing we're waiting for is to be told to make coral reefs, to make things that float not float. There's our two types of ships in the world, that's targets and submarines. Investing in building submarines is one of the most crucial things that we could ever invest in. To build a submarine is very technically challenging job, so everything has been

engineered top to bottom forward and aft to be the most complex, yet lethal and efficient machine ever created. On behalf of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and Secretary Spencer, it is an absolute honor to join you today for the commissioning of our Navy's newest warship, USS Idaho. This is 8,000 tons of pure American might, which is a flexible, multi-mission platform providing everything from anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare to special operations insertion, strike, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance. This milestone marks the ship's entry into the fleet as an active duty warship, fully prepared to defend the nation's interests across the globe.

Sailors of USS Idaho, you are now at the tip of the spear of the silent service. You are ready. Our nation is immensely proud of what you have achieved, and we sleep soundly tonight knowing you will be standing the watch. The world knows we can be your biggest ally, but we will also be your worst enemy. Just ask Iran. And if you really piss us off, we're going to fly you into your country in the middle of night and snatch you and your wife while you're sleeping in your beds. To the crew of USS Idaho, as your Secretary of Navy, I'm never above you. I'm never below you. I'm always beside President Trump's commission to our military is simple, to achieve peace through strength.

Idaho joins the fleet ready to answer the call to action in any ocean at any time. As we commission USS Idaho into the fleet, it gives me great pride to be the chief of boat to train the crew so we can be the apex predator in the ocean and the scariest thing in the ocean since the Cretaceous period.
