There are lots of different kinds of turtles, and they can be lots of different shapes and sizes.

What about my outfit is giving zookeeper to you? - It's giving the brown. - The brown. - And, like, the, like, zoo. - Do you do biology? - I do biology, yes! - Wait! In the water? - Yes. - Marine biologist!

- Really? Yes, that's what I do. - Really? That was a great job! Good guessing! So what does a marine biologist do? - I know! They study the plants and animals in the water. - That is exactly what I do. I study all of the animals that live in the ocean. So I brought some stuff that I was hoping to show you all. - Really? - But in order to see this stuff, you gotta get suited up like a marine biologist. - Oh, okay. Let's do it! - One, two, three.

Shh! - Ta-da! - Wearing our costumes now. - Elmo dressed like a scuba diver. - You look like a great tropical reef biologist. - Oh, well, thank you. - Yeah, you're looking good. We are looking ready to do some marine biology. Do you feel ready to see some animals? - Yeah. - Well, let's look at some critters. All right. - Are those alive? - These are alive. - What? They're alive? - Maybe you should put that one that way. (chuckles) - (laughs) Sorry!

These are called spider crabs. - Ah! - Don't worry, it's not gonna hurt you. It literally can't. I took its little claws and rubber-banded them together. You wanna hold out your hand like this? These are pretty pointy, but they're not gonna hurt you. They just kinda feel like freshly sharpened pencils. (Aviana giggles) Do you wanna pet him? - Pet him? - You can. They're a little bit furry, a little fuzzy. - Ooh, they are.

- Elmo has a question about, um, where they live. Because if they live underwater, isn't it hard for them to not be in water? - So some animals can go in between being underwater and out of the water. - Oh, kind of like a frog? - [Sarah] Like a frog, totally. - Let me count the legs. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10. Ooh! It is. What do I call it with 10 legs?

Would you like another, see another creature? - Yeah. - Yeah, let's see some more crustaceans. - Would you like to say, "Goodbye, Mr. Spider Crab?" - Goodbye, Mr. Spider Crab. - Check ya later, dude. - Here we have the jaw- - Whoa! - Of a shark? - Of a great white shark.

- Whoa. - Yeah. This is a tiger shark's jaw. - Wow! - So tiger sharks are one of the biggest types of sharks. - Wait, how many teeth do it have? - But it has rows of teeth. So if they lose one, it's okay. - They grow a new one. - I hate to break it to you, Elmo, I think the shark might be able to eat you whole. - Oh, this is terrifying.

(film crew laughs) Whoa! Elmo's okay. - Should we be scared of sharks? - I don't think so. Most of the time, if you're swimming with one, they're not gonna hurt ya, they're just gonna hang out. - Have you ever touched a shark? - I have touched sharks. They feel kind of rough. They feel like sandpaper, sort of. - Oh, that's interesting 'cause they kind of look like they would be smooth. - They look smooth, but actually, if you look at a shark's skin, there are many teeny tiny little teeth on the skin called denticles.

- Denticles. - It helps them glide through the water. - Ah, cool! - Yeah. All right, we've got a type of sea snail called a whelk. Hmm. Ugh! You can sort of feel its surface. Feels kinda weird. And then the underside is where the animal lives. Right there. - Oh, look at that. Hi there, snail. - Hello, snail. - Hello. - So a lot of marine animals are covered in mucus. Mucus is a lot like snot like we have in our noses.

- Ugh! - Mucus might seem gross, but can actually be really, really- - No, no, no, it doesn't seem gross. (Sarah laughing) - [Both] It is gross! (both laughing) - So, okay, so fine. - [Sarah] Oh, this is the tail. It looks like a stinger. - Oh, it's not a stinger. - But it's not gonna sting you. - Phew! - Yeah. - Thank goodness! - Can it walk? - It can walk. So you can see these kinda look like they have little brooms on the end. That helps them move in sand. 'Cause it's kinda hard to move in sand when you've got really pointy legs. And so these kind of push their legs all out like this. And that helps them push themselves along the sand.

- That is crazy. - It's pretty wild. - Whoa! - Can it talk? - It can't really talk the same way that we talk. So these animals don't really make noise at all. - So if they can't talk to each other, how does it communicate? - So different animals in the ocean communicate all different kinds of ways. Some of them, like dolphins and whales, they use sound just like we're communicating with right now. - Well, Elmo knows about dolphins.

- Yeah. (Elmo mimicking dolphin) That is a perfect dolphin impression. - Alexis, you wanna try it together? (both mimicking dolphins) (laughs) That's great! - All right, would you like to say goodbye to the horseshoe crab? - Bye, horseshoe crab. - Bye. - Goodbye. - How do we protect our oceans? - One of the biggest things we can do is just try to use less. So if you have a T-shirt, wear that T-shirt until you can't anymore.

Don't get rid of it quickly. If you can share things with other people. Like, by taking the bus instead of driving a car, that's a great way to help the ocean. And try to prevent bad things from getting into the ocean. Maybe do a neighborhood cleanup or do a beach cleanup to prevent plastic from getting into the ocean. - And don't throw anything into the ocean, right? - And definitely don't throw anything into the ocean. - Yeah, 'cause sometimes Elmo sees litter and plastic in the ocean and it's not- it's not good.

- It's not good for the ocean to have plastic in there.
