Met Gala 2026: Beyoncé's Showstopping Look, Nepo Babies, and the Best Celebrity Fashion

I love you, Belise. Almansar, I hate this dress. I'm sorry. Despise. I don't know where you're going with that, by the way. I was about to agree or disagree with you. Hated it real bad. Someone said it looked like hemorrhoids. It did. It really does. Welcome back to Yap Session, where we talk about all the trending topics here at Page Six. And of course, we have to talk about the Met Gala um and some of our favorite looks and some of the most weirdest looks that we've seen like the first Monday in Met. It's our Super Bowl. Literally my Super Bowl. I always go in person. I'm always out there fighting with the paparazzi to get a scene. And they always put it.

It's not like in the movie Devil West Prada. It's like they put a tent. You could kind of squee somebody, but you really can't see too much, but it's just for the energy. It's such a moment for art. It's like it's a first of all, people don't really know it's a fundraiser for the M. It's not just lost in the messaging. It does get lost. But let's talk about the gowns. Let's talk about what we really want to talk about in the first place. I'm so excited. First of all, Beyonce was a co-chair along with Nicole Kidman, our AMC queen, and Venus. You almost forgot that word. I know. I said no.

The attention was certainly on Queen literally. It was weird to see her like out like just It's Yeah, we don't see her doing that. She hasn't been in the Met in I think over a decade. So, just seeing that was almost weird. And it was a family affair. She went with Jay-Z and Blue. So, I mean, okay, Blue, she's like sunning and shining with the shades on and I want to say she's one of the youngest attendees ever. So, the role is normally 18 and up, but you know, Beyonce gets what she wants. The lady gets what she wants and so they lowered it to 14 just for her to have this exception for Blue Ivy. This was like her world debut almost.

You know how like when like back in the day when they were bringing their daughters to the debutons and things like that? This was her welcoming to it was very tin. Exactly. Did you guys see her interview with Lala Anthony? First of all, she looks so Beyonce looks super nervous in the interview. She's so cute. She's so weird to me. I feel it. I can see her as such a power. Like she's always in the spotlight. So it was it's interesting. Makes her feel relatable.

She really like all the time. But what did you guys think of Beyonce's look and Blue A's look? So um Beyonce was wearing Olivia Rust Rier something like that. Um she was the creative director for uh Balmont. Yes. And she's been working with him for many years. The look was very like opulent skeleton with like a ombre train. It was stunning. Did you guys get into the look? How'd you feel about it? I liked it. Did we need the whole train and the fur part? Like I don't know. I feel like the rest kind of stood out so much on its own that I don't know if I need honestly I feel like I appreciate going over the top and above and beyond

because honestly like I was so excited for the theme this year costume art and I feel like a lot of people didn't deliver. I feel like that is a theme where you do have to deliver and go above and beyond. And I feel like most people's looks as stunning as they looked giving more like regular award show. So I think the bigger the better for the sheer I love Beyonce's I love the train of it all. To me, I just I feel like the combination of the train and the skeleton, I was a little confused. I agree. I'm like, what are we going for here? We had train, we had skeleton, we had headpiece, we had a lot going on. And honestly, what I liked about it was the makeup was uh warm. She sometimes has been giving us like a colder look

lately. I enjoy the warm makeup. We're out of that platinum blonde era now. Beyonce, you know, I love you, girl, but I don't. That's not my favorite, baby. That's not my favorite Beyonce. I like when you give us a warm honey blonde. We're back in Bond and that tells me act three is coming. I mean, she couldn't have dropped that during the LA. You can only get so much. I would say some of my other favorite looks which I know is causing some conversation is Madonna's. See, I didn't love it. Literally story, but I love that. That's the thing. I love warm.

I love a creepy look. Like, is it costume art? Like, yes, I guess. Is it making me depressed? Yes. She did. I love the winess though. Like, you know, I love how they had everyone. I also saw like one of those ladies about the trip going down THE STAIRS WITH THE DID SHE FALL AND Jason do the blindfolds were so randomly a trend this year between Rachel Zaggler and Sarah Pollson? Like why Sarah Pson went with the dollar bill? Sarah Pawson though, I feel like I maybe cuz I like Sarah Pawson, I want to feel like she was making a statement. Like although I'm here like we're all blinded by the dollar. I don't know. Maybe that's my message. I preferred the

Rachel Zgler uh blindfold look though opposed to Sarah Bson. But I actually agree with you there. Sarah was probably going with something there. Yeah, there were so many trains. We can get into Blue Ivy's look also. Um I think she had Balenciaga on that all white with the bomber. Her shoes were very We're not in Kansas anymore. I thought she was going to click them together and go somewhere, honey. It was very cute, very fun. And it was like I just like to see Blue Ivy's style develop on her own, right? Like I feel like she they let her have a hand in it.

They're not like micromanaging what she does. And this is really what she wanted to wear. So, I love it. And Jay-Z was there, honey, too. Also, we love you, Jay. Simple. But I feel like with most men's fashion, it's usually more simple. I saw something on Instagram where it's like they need to start having a sign like before entrance, like no entering if you're only wearing a tux because I feel like that is a reoccurring issue with men's fashion. I feel like in more recent years, I feel like they are trying to get a little bit most a little bit more outside the box.

I mean, you know me, I love the heated rivalry boys. Yeah, let's get into their little mixed responses. There's a lot of mixed responses. I did love both of their looks. I feel like Connor's story I kind of expected a little more. I'm I was a little disappointed. I'm not going to lie. I mean, don't get me wrong, you look like people what direction people are looking at, but the outfit itself was I thought a real Oh, he looks incredible. He had serving arms. Thank god. I think it's just like it's something I could have bought in like at a department store. Like I was know going into this that when it comes to the men, all eyes are on those two.

Totally. The it and Hudson went in a completely different direction was he went all, you know, over the top which again mixed reviews. I appreciate I love the black swan multicolored makeup. It's the makeup for me. A lot of people don't. I love a rockstar look. I do. I know. Again, mixed opinions, but I appreciate that he put in some color. put in a jacket with a pattern jacket and outfit wise way better overall his look is better than as opposed to the common I feel like most men were just wearing a tux again. We love you Ben Stiller at that point. He was like Timmy made the right decision. Why am I HERE?

HE'S LIKE MY WIFE'S making me correct. He even wore like the orange tie for the next He's like he's probably watching on his phone. I mean wait so what do we think of ASAP Rockies? I mean obviously it's another like situation but the pink No, but it was nice. It gave very dapper like almost last year's theme where it was like that dandy dapper vibe cuz it was like a suit but it was light pink. It had that kind of uh almost like frilly something at the bottom. It was like a softer. Also, I like to play with textures. The textures were really nice.

He always gives it up. He always gives more than the He's a fashion killer. And the fashion killer right next to him, Rihanna, whatever. But never leaves. And even Anna Winour admitted the only one who's allowed to arrive late to the Met Gala is Rihanna. People are trying to like take that spot from her and it's just established like no that's Rihanna arrive later than Rihanna. She's the only one that has permission and tradition fashionably late. She's allowed to do it and because she lives up to the name.

I will say at first I was a little confused. I had to Google like girl what is she wearing? Cuz at first I'm like googling all night. Literally she looks like a crater. I'm like is she Mrs. Rocky? Like what's going on? But Rocky's crazy. But when I looked it up on Google, it was saying that she was like a oy like supposed to represent an oyster from Barbados or something like that. So I was like, "Okay, she's an island girl. We'll give it to her. I'm down for it." We were talking about this previously before filming. I feel like Sabrina's look I loved. But I loved it because I had to research it. I feel like part of the issue

sometimes is like I shouldn't have to Google the significance. I feel I should look at it and understand it. I thought it was really cool. She is wearing the film creative from a movie called Sabrina from the film Sabrina. But at first I was like I don't get it. But once I Googled it art and that's where the art comes in. And I feel like with this theme I should just be able it should be over the top enough or I should just I mean over the top goes Heidi Cloom. I mean youid but again you kind of needed more info along with it. But it was very much clear like she's a statue. She is a I mean the queen of Halloween. She pulled through. Did you feel like it was more Halloween than me gala though? Cuz I kind of

I think it's okay cuz it's costume. Yeah, exactly. And it's supposed to be costume art, so like I she's celebrating early. Exactly. I did love um Anki. I don't know if she's getting as much as attention, but she's a Sudanese model and um she was dressed, I believe, by Balenciaga and like she wanted to represent um a statue, but she also wanted to she has tears rolling down her face because of all the atrocities going on in Sudan. So like that was her version of protest which I love you know that mixture of protest and art. And we have to mention the moment well we have to mention the people that are protesting it. The Zenaia wasn't

there. A lot of people weren't there because it was sponsored by Bezos. There was actually a protester there that tried to like rush the carpet and they were tackled by police. Like it was a whole thing. I mean I feel like as of now like Zenaia didn't confirm it was because of Bezos. It was because she did say she just need a break from doing red carpets and press. I feel like with Bella Hadid, she was probably the most confirmed because she did like a post that was anti-Basos about the mech gala, right? And didn't she say something about you can wear the ice out pins, but you can't wear an influencer made a video saying like basically like don't go don't support,

you know, the Bezos back mechala and definitely don't wear the ice out pins if you go liked it. Taji commented like I'm so confused. Why would people go to this? But at the end of the day, like a billionaire kind of has to fund the mechala. So obviously I understand this the stance that they're taking but if it ain't Jeff Bezos it's going to be a different billionaire. So it's kind of like they're picking and choosing a little here because they've all gone in the past and they're probably gonna go in the future. So I just think that was interesting. I think maybe for them it's more so just the timing of where we are in the world you know and I can respect it like if you feel a certain type of way about

attending or whatever like take your stance and speak out about it. There's a lot of people who are vocal about it online and just like Anokei is her name right just like her like there's different ways to protest. you can attend and make your art and your fashion the protest. I love that there was a story behind it of something that was meaningful to her that we could, you know, so there's ways to kill two birds with one stone. We can get back to the fashion. Tiana Taylor is having a moment left and right. She is the I feel like I look forward to her look every red carpet and I love seeing it.

Oh my god, look at it. I love it. Another JLo wears something kind of similar. He did cut some but I kind of think Tiana Taylor bear who wore best. Yeah, Tiana was great. Tiana in my opinion. I mean I also found it interesting. I feel like another common trend this mech gala I saw it with um Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Haley Bieber is like the molded corset. They all went so tired cuz I feel like I've literally I've seen pieces like this on Etsy. I'm sure that's where they got those from. No shade, but I do feel like I'm like I was just expecting a little more with Kindle specifically. I at first I

was ready to be like, "Oh my god, breathtaking. She looks beautiful." Obviously, it's like very simple, but then I'm like, "What are we doing here with this like the whole titty?" Yeah, cuz it's giving There's something. Is there a mishap happening along the way? Now, realistically, it's Kendall Jenner. There's no mishap happening, but just from, you know, our eyes, is there one? You know, it's hard. It's hard to tell. And it needs to be said the theme. Let me read the theme to y'all so we can know what we're talking what the bar is.

The theme is costume art. Dress code is fashion is art. And this year's theme and accompanying exhibit are costume art. And we'll explore different body shapes and parts as well as clothes that cover and highlight them. Right. So you got Beyonce with like the skeletal thing kind of emphasizing that. And that's why you kind of get a lot of the body shapes. I know you think it's tired, but I think it's a part of I'll eat my words. They were on theme. They were on theme, but there were a lot of people that were not on theme. Like unfortunately people like I don't even think we have these photos but like different people like they looked beautiful but it was like a toss you really

I thought Nicole Kidman was wasn't anything to write home about right I mean another baby debut Sunday Rose I feel like again Nicole Kidman's gorgeous she always looks stunning I always love her looks but it was giving more red carpet than men yes I agree it was not very I LOVED IT I LOVE THE WAY it I don't know it just didn't it didn't wow me another thing I couldn't help but notice and I know people are talking about is like Zoe Kravitz was hiding that big rock from Harry Styles. We all know you're engaged and also she was spotted leaving Anna Winour's house like pretty recently before the Met Gala showing off the ring but she was noticeably like hiding it in the pockets. I love a dress with pockets. Who doesn't? But like she

would it was like she was hiding that hand like we've seen it like off theme but she's just so beautiful. She's gorgeous. And Channing wasn't there, so there didn't have to be any awkward ex runins because, you know, he ain't happy about that new engagement. So, Oh, totally. And also, I found it interesting. What did you guys think about Blake Lively making an appearance? We all hated her. She said, "The lawsuit is done. Here I go." LITERALLY, LIKE, WASN'T IT JUST SETTLED YESTERDAY AND SHE'S LIKE, "OKAY, I guess I got to go to the Met."

Blake, thanks for exhausting us for like two years with this whole trial and everything and now it's not even happening. Yeah, I know. She just shows up to the mat like ain't nothing happened. For the Gossip Girl fan, she did give very much Serena Bender Wilson on that. It was like they were always going to a gala. She loves a long train. She kind of does the same vibe every year, I feel like, which is why it never blows me away because she's had such good looks that she did. It's a little recycled.

She used to be a Met Gala girl in previous years. I feel like most recently it hasn't been giving as much. Um, but I don't know. I wasn't expecting her to come. Are we shocked that her bestie Taylor didn't show up? No. I'm not surprised. I feel like she doesn't I feel like she's been all the time. No, she's been more quiet. And I mean, honestly, I am surprised that Blake Lively did come. I mean, the case was literally just settled.

Literally hours earlier. I mean, personally, I'm assuming that was a really long trial. I'm assuming that's emotionally exhausting. Yeah. So, before we wrap, I do want to think about like talk about some more weird looks. Like, were there any looks that really stood out to you were like, "Pick me, Bad Bunny, dress as AN OLD MAN." TALK ABOUT NEEDING TO DO RESEARCH. He's not the one we're used to with him. I saw it like quickly when I was scrolling Twitter and I go, "Okay, random old man." And then I go, "Why is that bad bunny?" It's like top grave or something. Well, that's Bad

Bonnie. Hold up now. Now I need to do research. He loves a prosthetic. Like he always goes in music videos like he had that one video where he became a woman. He has I mean he loves to be he really goes for it which is fun. He has fun with it. I think he said he was trying to be the age of 53. HE LOOKS WAY BAD BUNNY. YOU'VE been around, right? Especially nowadays. But we like you how you are, Bad Bunny. Don't need to switch it up too much. That was on theme either. Like, listen, I love you, Bad Bunny. But that wasn't quite on theme. It was giving Blue Origin. Yeah, we get it. You went to space, girl. You heard about it. What is happen? She's just kooky. She's cooky. I feel like she's trying lately to give the wow factor, especially in headlines, like in our music and publicity stunts. But and that's not the that's not art. Like that's not I don't get it. That's another one. I It's You know what it is? I'm realizing Squid Games. I see that. She looks like a sexy Squid Games employee. She colored her red. She red. Wait, one person I really did love though was u I feel like she was kind of on theme was Emma Chamberlain.

Oh, yeah. reverse arrival of the night. She's a fashion girly. She loves a wrist. And we need to talk about all the interviewers. Shout out to the interviewers. La Chamberlain, Ashley Graham. Like they did a very good job because you know what? They cast them well. They're the ones like you want to be friends with Emma. You want to be friends with Ashley. And they are friends with people like Laa Anthony has the Kardashian and she was very comfortable with Beyonce and Beyonce is not going to talk. She's speaking Spanish to Benito and to Marcelo from the last couple years have done a great job of who they're picking to do the interviews.

I agree. Good job. Especially with all the personalities, I love making it feel like I'm gossiping with my friends. I just want to know what's going inside. Like even you saw Bad Bunny like saying hi to Chris and Kim and like his obviously we know his ex is Kendall. Like there's just so many interesting dynamics. Like we need more than just the red carpet. I want to get a peek inside. I love it. Even like I saw someone like sneak a video like Charlie XCX and Connor Story were going out for a smoke break and I'm like imagine that cigarette circle.

I know there's got to be so much gossiping. I'm like I ain't sitting with that person. I drink the tea. I have the inside. Remember that year where it was No, Diddy, honey. But remember Diddy and Kendall and everybody. It was like that big photo. Oh, that selfie blew up cuz it's like, "Oh my god, it's the bathroom." YEAH, WE CAN DO IT. Was it like last year or whatever that someone took a picture of like the table with the food and stuff?

They ain't They're not eating that good there. You know, and it was very it was beautiful because I just saw Devil Wars Prada and they put it in the movie The Met Gala. So, it was beautiful to see it like, "Wow, we live in New York. WE'RE DOING THE THING." IT'S MY favorite time of year because it's like I love how they like try to keep the guest list hush, but it's like wait this person's spot this person's spotted. To me that's the most fun part. It's kind of like where's Waldo of New York every weekend. We have to get into Cardi B. She has three dresses. She had a dress just to leave the hotel cuz she knew there was going to be an audience for that. Then she's on the carpet now.

This and I love you Beliss Almansar. I hate this dress. despise. I don't know where you're going with that, by the way. I don't know if I was about to agree or disagree with you. Hated it real bad. And she And what I appreciate because no matter how far away from the Bronx she is, it's always going to give Cinderella a story like, "Wow, look where she came from. Look where she's at." And she goes for it with fashion. I love that. But this one was a miss. But I think there is something sweet about like being this girl growing up in the Bronx probably like being so close yet so far to the

Met Gala and then it's like oh my god like I made it. I'm here. I'm in the big leagues. Like it's kind of it's it's a sweet story to think about. Yeah. And it's been nearly a decade she's in the industry but it's still she's never lost that thing that makes you remember where she's from and we love you forever. But that dress wasn't my favorite. The afterparty dress was amazing. Like I love the exit the whole time after the after party look and they were going to Beyonce so they had to give 10 out of 10.

I'm waiting for that Beyonce after party look cuz it hasn't Yeah, we need that. We need that Instagram. I saw the Cardi B after party look with her and Hennessy and it looked stunning. Hennessy was in the red. Yes. So, you know. Yeah, it was a fun look. It was fun to watch this year. You know what I mean? It really was very starstudded. Like everyone really Oh, definitely. Everyone stepped out. It was a very elite guest list for sure. Absolutely. And Beyonce, go ahead and drop ACT THREE, GIRL. WE WAITING, GIRL. We got all excited now.
