Exploring the Lands Beyond: A Challenging Climb in Baby Steps

Markiplier returns to Baby Steps after a break, struggling with lost muscle memory as he navigates treacherous terrain. He encounters a fellow hiker named Nate, discusses maps and routes, and faces a series of challenging climbs involving springy branches, slippery surfaces, and a precarious train car. Along the way, he deals with graphical glitches, a phone call from his dad, and his own self-doubt, all while trying to conquer the mountain.

English Transcript:

Hello everybody. My name is Markiplier and welcome back to Baby Steps. It has actually been a while since I conquered the Manbreaker, which makes me worried because I have not practiced this. I practiced. Wait, why can't I click? Hello. Okay, there we go. I practiced a little bit and it's like not all of the muscle memory is gone, but it's not quite as sharp as it once was. But I'm doing okay. And I have confidence that so long as there's not some horrible snake like thing that is going to send me back to the beginning from wherever the hell I'm trying to go now because I see some twin peaks. Literally those are exactly the same. So I'm guessing that's in reality there's only

one of them. Still not 100% sure how that works. But I'm guessing I need to climb that and it's probably going to end badly for me if I don't. So here we go. Oh god, it is bad. I've forgotten entirely how to walk. Hello. Hey Mike. Oh, hey Nate. I'm so cold. Oh yeah. What a doozy of a hike. Where's Moose? Oh, you just missed him. Yeah. No, we got to talking about my map and then he said he had to pee. Anyway, let's compare maps. I was planning out my route for tomorrow and I was thinking maybe crash train first.

M. I don't have a map. You've come all this way with no map? Yeah. It's kind of like cheating. Cheating? Yeah. You'll have skipped half of the points of interest. What? I You're cheating. I'm not cheating. I've I've seen everything there is to see on this mountain. I'm I'm I'm having to find my way up. Yes. So what? I don't know. Jim's just done it for you. He just chewed it up. Yum, yum, yum. And then he spit it into your mouth. You're as a little baby bird.

I'm not a baby bird. I'm the big bird. I'm chewing my own worms. You're eating Jim's worms. Well, I don't have to chew anybody's worms. I can get my own worms to chew. Yeah, I don't need this map. No, you don't. Maybe I'll just No, you don't want this for tomorrow. You'll be like a little baby bird chewing up my worms. It's going in the fire. It's exhilarating. Nate, we could go anywhere. Yeah, I'm not going to be able to sleep like this. We got to go.

Let's go now. A night hike. Oh, I knew two lanterns would come in handy. Ready? You go. I'll catch up with you. Okay, SALANA. I think he's going to die. Not that I'm sure that you can die, but then with what happened. Oh, they turned it into a workout basement. Oh, onward and upward indeed. Oh, comfy rock to sleep on. Holy [__] hello. I'm guessing I'm supposed to talk to you, but also I'm afraid. Don't mind if I slip and fall on the way to you.

Don't Don't take that into anything about my ability or my me being a person. Hi. I don't like this. I don't like this at all. Oh, no. Please. Who will you be when you're older than me? appears I could run a saloon. Stay in your room. Whoever you'll be is all right with me. I'll treasure whoever you are. Okay, if we're going to go with the whole baby kind of thing going on here, then this makes a lot of sense. So, I'm guessing it's something to do with like, you know, I'm in a onesie. I look like a

baby. I'm walking like a baby. There's something about when you're a baby, every adult looks like a giant. I'm guessing something like that. Anyway, I got to get my feet under me because I have completely forgotten how to walk. I'm still rocking the Stadia controller. Kind of need to get a vantage point because there's something over there that looks like a whip. Huh? Cow. Moose. Moose cow. Okay. Not sure if that's just ambiance or if that's a real thing. It's hard to tell sometimes in these.

Might just be ambiance. I'm not sure if all that is frozen over there. I'm guessing it is considering all this. But that means if it's ice, it's just going to be slippery. So, there's some kind of a uh what looks like a smoking motorbike of some kind over there. Oh my god. Hush. But then it looks like there's uh kind of a challenge thing with maybe a fruit on top of it. So, I'm going to go for the fruit first and go from there. Can I slide? If I tilt, it's probably going to be slippy. Oh, it is slippy. Oh my god, it's slippy. Okay. Whoa. Okay, so this is going to take some getting used to. Whoa. Okay, we want to slip outward. So, we got to keep our Whoa. Okay.

Oh, this is a whole new dynamic. Got to kind of do some kind of Oh, if we get some momentum going. Okay. Yeah, that's going to be tricky. There's definitely a fruit up there. [snorts] All right, let's try it. This will be good because if there is ice on any further obstacles up there, I really should get an understanding of how it works before I get to any spot like that. Because if I have to approach something up on a precipice with ice and the risk is falling all the way back down, I had better have my footing under me. So, I had best make sure that I have absolute confidence in every step cuz everything is icy.

I like how my arms are really emphasizing like that I need my balance right now because that's telling me that this is all very slippy, right? So, the arms are kind of an indication of how bad things are. Is that actually an indication? Like, cuz sometimes I Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Ah, [__] There I go. Sometimes I ball my fists and it's like maybe that's an indication that my footing is better. Wow. Whoa. Whoa. Okay. So, what do I do there when it's slipping with the foot out? Because I can't exactly I try to bring it in, but once it's slipping, it's kind of like there's nothing you could do about it. You just really got to take baby steps.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Why? That was weird. Wonder if I should try to go down first opposed to cross this gap like this. Okay, there is a slippy slide here. So, I'm going to try to go to the most narrow point because I feel like if I'm touching that at all, it's bad news. Oh, on the other side there's a easier way up. Oh, it's just the ambiance of the level. It's going to be moaning. Gonna be a lot of moaning.

Okay, that is still a downward slope. I got to be careful about that. That would send me off to the abyss. Is this a lemon? Is that a lemon? Yeah, it's so yummy. That was so good and yummy. So lemony and acidic. You're not going to shout lemon to the rooftops. All right. Okay. So, we did that. And the trick of it that I've learned is it's not about small. Although I was taking small steps. I think it's about fast. So, I can do all kinds of moves. I don't think I can make this drop unless I do a funky double drop like that. It's about being smooth, right? And steady cuz it's momentum probably. Also on the

down, you know, like being easy on the down is paramount. Just doing this so I can test my theories out. Yep. It's about smooth. Okay, let's get a move on and let's get over I kind of want to go see what's with that snowman. See, that was fast. So, I let that go. I let that drop fast and so my other foot kicks out. Actually, it might just be better to always do the double drop. Oh. Oh, there I go. That's fine. It's where I wanted to go anyway. I don't even know if I'm going to be able to make it up that nook there. So steady, steady wins the race.

Oh my god. Snow's still good. Snow's fine. Although I probably would slide down if I fell here. Trying to go over here. I was looking for a shortcut to get over the ridge, but I don't think this is what I was looking for. Why is it goopy there? Good grip, though. Wow. Shockingly good grip. Okay. So, I think the path is just going straight up the mountain there. What that means at the end of it, I do not know. Okay, there's a snowman there. And then, oh, what I thought was like a crash motorcycle is just a rock. Okay, well, this might have been pointless. All right, let's just steady down, steady down, steady down, steady down. Oh, this is going to be bad. Whoop! Yeah, I think ice is just if

you get it wrong, you are toast no matter what way you do. It's weird. The rock is deforming. That doesn't seem right. All right. Hi. Is that a hat? Oh [__] Oh [__] Oh no. I didn't mean to do that. That snowman had been there for 400 years until some hoon came and kicked it over. You wanker. That's really funny. Can I roll this? Oh my god, I can. Would it gather snow? No. They wouldn't program that in, would they? No. There's no way. Would they? Wait, is it bigger? Wait, is this working? Is it working?

What is that? Wait, there's something over there. Whoopsie. I don't know how I did that. That was interesting. Can I walk on the ball? Like, you know, roll it like on top of it. My leg usually can't go that high. I don't know how I did that. I'm never going to be able to replicate that ever again. And this is not gathering any more snow. So, that was fun. I'm going to go see what this is about. It looks like a train car that fell off a mountain, which might be exactly what it is. Oh, and uh I did I say it out loud? The giant lady's probably Nathan's mom. probably exact representation of Nathan's mom. Okay. Yeah, that is definitely a train car. I don't know if there's any benefit to going this way, but here I go.

I see something cool. Watch this. Yeah. Let me see if I can do this right. Oh, I thought that was going to give me some momentum. Oh, great technique, man. But Oh, man. There probably is a way to skate. Whoa, whoa, whoa. I was doing it. Holy I don't know how I was doing that, but I got into a rhythm and it felt pretty good and it was just happening. Okay, there's some kind of cave there. Can I slide under it? Whoa, there I go. Okay, if I just slide under it somehow, I might be able to get in there. I don't know why I'd want to get in there, but I might be able to.

Oh, whoops. Okay. Okay, hold on. Help. I'm trying. Hold on. Somebody. Okay. Can I slide under? Come on. Okay. He must have fallen in somehow, but how is he hurt? Help. Oh, he's trapped under a rock. That's what it is. Okay, so if I can't go in here, Jim, Get in. I just want to try this a few more times before I give up on this cuz it could be the way in. [screaming] Yes, it is 100%. Somebody out there, help. Yes, there is. Savior is on the way. Your hero has arrived. Oh my god. Here I go. Here I am. I'm I'm here, buddy. I'm here.

Damn hell. Hello. Is somebody there? Hey. Hey, Mike. Oh, Nate. Oh, thank goodness. Oh, I'm saved. Yeah. Uh, I got crushed under this rock. That's tough. So painful. It's like a 11 out of 10 on the pain scale. Well, should I Yeah. Could you move it? Um, okay. Yeah. Sorry. Here. Hold on. [screaming] Uh, it seems a little heavy. Yeah, it's not moving, is it? No, it's um I don't like these worms, Nate. No, I found my own worms and I don't like them. Okay, listen. I'll I'll go get help. Uh, just go down the mountain and get him.

He'll know what to do. I just we're kind of night having a thing. It's You wouldn't want me to. Yes, I would. I would want You don't understand. It's complicated. I'll just get Moose. Moose is going to help. Do you know where he is? More or less. More or less? Yeah. More. Nate. No. More. Don't worry. I wouldn't want to waste any time. I better get off to it. Don't leave me here, Nate. No. It's okay. Just breathe through it. Just [screaming] uh leave your body. I'm in my body. What do you mean leave your body, Nate?

Come on. Okay, hold on. Let me get a let me get an eyeball on the situation cuz I think what this is either I go back down the mountain to where Jim has thrown himself off. I bet that's where he is. Or you think you feel bad. Think about how bad I feel. Oh, I can't get this. Okay, whatever. Can I get any of his equipment now? [groaning] Maybe this was what the moose sounds were. For some reason, they interpreted as coming out of this cave is some kind of moose. Sorry, I won't step on your face. I promise. Oh my god. Okay, so I don't know where Moose is, but I do remember seeing a figure standing upon a Fine. Okay. So, since I know that this all loops and I know that for a fact and that fact will never betray me and I

know it for certainty in my soul that it is true, then somehow Come on. I've climbed steeper than this. There we go. I knew it. I knew I could get up here. Oh, no. Not the Oh. Oh, okay. We're fine. I'm just going to go Yeah, I'll go the not stupid way. Why would I go that way? Why would I go the narrow tiny path? Why would I do that? Why would anyone expect me to do that? That would be ridiculous even to contemplate. Okay. Right. This path up there may Oh my god. I see you, Snowball.

Huh? What the [__] Whoa. Okay, this Okay, again, this looks like I'm like, yeah, I could definitely go up here. It's so tiny and so demure. Really? Can I not get up here? Am I missing something very obvious? Nope. Oh, yeah. That's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm talking about, baby. That's what I'm talking about. That's why I'm the best. That's why I'm the better than the rest. I'm going to get smacked by the snowball so badly. But I see a fruit up there and I'm going to Was that a fruit? What? Pineapple. Is that pineapple? You're telling me you got pineapple up there? Holy [__] pick

up on it. It's going to come down and smack me in the face. And how far will it push me back if I actually get smacked in the face by it? [__] Whoa. You smacked me in the face. There it is. dive. Oh [__] Oh [__] Oh god. Oh well, this isn't working how I wanted it to work, BUT IT WORKED PERFECTLY. OKAY, but can I please slow down and get that caught there? Okay, so this is just a slip and slide anyway. I thought diving would allow me to Okay, I thought diving would allow me to hit the ground and stick to the ground because that's what obviously it would have done. It's supposed to be hard.

Nothing to worry about here. WHOOPS. WHOA. WHAT WAS THAT, NATE? WHOA. SPOYING. I've never uh encountered a move quite like that, Nate. You're very springy and elastic, and I really appreciate that, but anywhere but right as I get to the top and onto flat surface. Again, don't know how you did that. Don't know why you did that, but you really just completely flat surface. I've never seen that. I've seen actually I take that back. There have been rare occasion. Why is there a cut in the geometry there? Uh developers, there's um I can peer into the beyond. I can see into the forever. Can I slip and fall into that? Why am I asking that? I should not ask that. I shouldn't want to slip and fall into the forever. I

should stay away from that. Jesus, what am I doing? Just going to go get the freaking fruit or whatever this is. And no, I'm not going to forget about Mike. I'm going to figure something out for that. I just really don't want to have to go back down because if I have to do the manb breaker again, I'm going to be pissed. Which was the best way to approach this? What even is this? A hat. Is this a hat? I think it's a hat. Yeah, but how do I grab that? Ooh, that's tricky. Okay. Wow. How do I grab that?

How the hell do I grab that? Is there a way to step onto the branch there? That's the only thing I can imagine because if I reach out for that, I'm falling. I'm not grabbing it. But if I have maybe if I get onto the wood here, [snorts] that's [__] crazy. Okay. Let me see about the right foot. Is that even tall enough? No. So, I have to be on this kind of route to even get up there. But to do that, I need to be I don't think the foot is narrow enough to land in that little creass. So, unless I can get another foothold somewhere else on here, I don't think that's going to work. Unless it is the other foot that needs to go up there.

Oh my god. Okay. Is that actually a good foothold? Is that act I can't tell? I don't think that's going to hold. I didn't mean for my foot to go all the way through like that. And I think as soon as if I put any weight on that, it's going to fall. And bring this up and through that gap. There I go. That's it. Damn. That is crazy. I should have just tried to put weight on it because it if it was stuck there, it might have worked. I'm going to try that again. I don't know how it managed that. That's crazy. All right, it doesn't take long to get back up there. Never mind.

You know, I had thought that I had gotten used to the sounds of the moose groaning, but I haven't. Shockingly, I still think it might be Mike groaning in pain. or some kind of semblance of that. Okay. So, I put my foot up here on this tall part there. That's good. And then I try to get my foot through here. Oh, interesting. Why did that happen? It's like my foot clipped right through the thing. Okay. H not 100% sure about that one. I really don't think there is a different approach to take this like that. Okay. Can I swing this around and put it on that? No. I'm going to go for Oh. Oh, come on. Oh. Oh, hold on. N OH, IT WAS SO.

[groaning] SO, in reality, there is not much room to move no matter what. It really wants to give me that toe hold, but I feel like if I put any weight on that, it slips right off. Yep. Slips right off. Okay. Maybe I could reach it just from here. Oh my god. Is that it? Oh, [__] Oh my god. Oh [__] Oh, I HAD IT. OH GOD, I HAD IT. OH, THAT WAS IT. GOD, I HAD my foot my heel was on there and I was like, for some reason I touched the lift button and it lifted off and shifted everything. Oh man. So being sideways helped, I think. At least my imagination is telling me that being sideways helped. Why is your left arm shaking? You cold?

Get over it. Damn it. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. So, I just have to gently lift and then lay down on this top of the trunk, which I can reach. I can absolutely reach. There it is. Oh, it slides off. Okay, never mind. Okay, so I was wrong. It slid off of that. Theoretically, I should be able to like bridge my foot. Whoa. What? What the Should I just go for it? Why not? Oh my god. I could have grabbed it the entire [__] time. Oh my god. I could have done that at any moment. Where'd it go?

Wait, where'd it go? Wait, no. Where'd it go? Where? What? It fell down with me. I thought it was in my hand when I was falling down. It was. Wait, where'd it go? Did it fall over here? I could have literally grabbed that at any time. Oh my god. I But where'd it go? Where is it? Oh, okay. I was about to say, holy [__] I know it's not that important, but wow, this took way too much work. I could have grabbed it at any moment.

Ah, that's better. I'm warm now. Holy [__] I know a lot of you were screaming at me, but you guys are cheaters because you've already seen and or played the game, and you wouldn't have known either. Even though, yes, I should have tried that early on being like, maybe I should just reach for it. But that tree looked climbable. Now it makes more sense of why my feet were going through it like that. But still, it looked climbable. All right, I got to figure out how to help Mike. That's what I got to do. There's got to be a way. There just got to be a way. And this I know this loops somehow or somewhere. Oh, is I supposed to climb? Is this Am I going the Am I losing progress here? I

mean, and I'm about to if I have to go back down and do the Manbreaker again cuz if I got to go see Jim, and I have a funny feeling that I do need to go find Jim so we can reconcile. What's with the graphical bugs? What's with the world? Wait, where is this going? Why does this feel like it's just going down? I mean, it is going down, but how could this So, I don't know when it loops, and I don't know what the logic is behind any of it, but what is that? Where am I?

I don't know. Oops. Okay, there's pillars over there for some reason. Know what that's about. Ah, okay. This is the It is the uh reversal or the loop. Reversal. I don't know what reversal means. Oh, moose. Wherever a moose might be. Anybody seen a moose around here somewhere? Some kind of structure on the top of that. So, I'm going to try it. Why? No. God, no. God die. Stop.

God. Okay. Some kind of interior cavern, but I don't think it goes anywhere. All right. Let's see if I can climb this. Yeah, seems climbable. It's weird how it deforms like that, but I think that makes it actually easier to climb. What is this? Telescope. Something's under construction here. But what's the point of this actually? How do I even get up on there to look through the telescope?

It's a little too high for me to do anything about unless I Oh, I see. I probably have to go up the structure and around to get here so that I can Yeah, cuz I can't climb that. So, I got to go on it and around it and then make this this bridge right here. That's not too bad. I'm sure that's what it is. All right. Haven't done something like this in a bit. Okay. Easy there. That's what you call skill. You got to fall perfectly. If you can't walk perfectly, you got to fall perfectly.

Okay, let's not go so big now. Okay, wait. Where am I going? Oh, wait. What? Okay, maybe I was wrong about this, but sure seems like that's what I should do because that seems to be the only way to get up there. I don't know why I would observe that though. Is there a rhyme andor reason? Can I go up the mountain there? No, that's pretty steep. Unless on the other side there's something I'm not seeing, which maybe there is Yeah. Okay. Yes. So, this actually No, wait. That doesn't help either, cuz that doesn't help me get up there. This is too tall for me to reach that ledge. So, there's no real point to this.

My hat. There it goes. Yep, there it goes. Uh, is it really worth it? I don't know if this is going to be any benefit. I'll go back down and get my hat if there is a way to go through this way. There must be. There wouldn't telescope there if there wasn't a way to look through the telescope. So, give me a way to look through the telescope. I want to look through the telescope. Can I move these? Are these physically enabled? Nope. So, how do you do this? Oh crap. Nah. Okay. And [__] it. Indeed. Yeah. You know what? When Nate says that, I'm inclined to agree. I'm going to go get my hat and then that's going to be the

end of it. I know this is about to look like a dangerous stunt, but trust me, I'm a trained professional. Oh [__] Wait. No. Hold on. No. Less. Less. FIGHT IT. NATE. FIGHT IT. YES. GOOD. That's why I'm a trained professional. Okay. So, I don't know where Moose is, but I think at the end of the day, the correct answer is to go find Jim and maybe he can reconcile this whatever circumstance that Mike has found himself in because I doubt that Moose is anywhere accessible. Moose is probably top the mountain by the time I get up there. He's going to be like, "I can't help you. How am I going to move a rock? I don't know. I'm just a

donkey." And then by the time that I get back to Mike, he's going to be dead for some reason. It's going to be revealing something like everyone else can die, but I can't for some reason, you know, something like that, right? That's what I predict. So, I might have to go try to find Jim. Okay. I'm not going to lie. Unless Jim says something particularly antagonistic, if I get down to the bottom, I'm going to take the stairs. I don't give a [__] I don't want to do the Manbreaker again. I probably could now because I've done it before, so I got a general understanding of it and I think I'm I'm pretty good at it at this point, but I still don't want to do it. I want to know how to skate again. I was skating good.

[snorts] Not like that. Nice. See, that's what I want to do every time I want to go up those things, which makes me feel like if I can't do that quickly and it's not immediately obvious, then that path is probably not meant to be gone on by me. Although, there were those stairs that I couldn't quite figure out before. The stairs in the desert area where it was like the actual staircase, the big one with the really large steps that had sand. That last one, I just couldn't figure out how to get up it. I don't know why couldn't do that trophy thing. So, I'm not a failure for not doing the telescope. Oh my god. Where am I going? Okay, hold on here. Hold on.

Okay, hold on. Okay, this is horrifically dangerous. Why am I going this way? I don't know. Holy [__] I think I had a sneaking suspicion that it would help me get back to the staircase, but wow, I didn't expect it also to have a incline into the abyss. Oh, maybe big lady could help open up the thing. Hey, can you help? Hey, mom. Oh, I guess I can't walk right out of there. I'm guessing your mom. If it's not, this is really weird. So, like I call your teacher your mom situation, but you know, there's a passing resemblance. Mom, now. It's just going to be the, you know, it's not as terrifying in the day and also now that I've done it already. That hat is a quivering when you're older than me.

Now it seems sweet. Now I'm like, "Yeah, run a saloon." Yeah. Yeah, that might have happened. Yeah. See, now that the day is all right with me, I'll treasure. That's really nice. Uh, but I was hoping you could help out with Mike who is under a rock and you're gigantic and so Well, I guess you couldn't even get in there anyway cuz small entrance. Okay, well that didn't help. I need to find Jim. Wonder if I could look down from the top of the staircase or something and if I could see if he's like splatted at the bottom or something. Jim. I mean, I know where I left him. Jimothy, Jimton, Jimmy Jones, Jimbo.

Anybody see him? Hey, call out if you see him. Uh, I can't really see nothing. You think he's down there? I mean, yeah, he's down there cuz he fell down. All right, I know this seems crazy, but I don't want to leave Mike in the lurch. I taunted him. Well, he kind of talked to me uh saying I was cheating when I was obviously not cheating, but uh I know this might seem crazy, but I'm kind of inclined to go back down because I am fine with taking the stairs. I've done it. I've done this. So, taking the stairs, I would not feel bad about that because it's like, yes, I've done that.

I've I've already did it. I don't need to prove myself again cuz I've already done it. Right? So, I really wonder why it looks like you could climb up that way as opposed to this ramp, but whatever. So, if I go back down there, I can take the stairs back up and it's fine, right? Totally fine. No one will be upset about that because this is for Mike, who I somehow didn't meet at the in the beginning of this game when I was supposed to cuz I somehow missed the first fire. And yeah, I know that's where he is because I was playing this casually on my own and I was discovering a lot of things that I had missed. So, what if he's not down there? I'm not going to look at him.

Okay, I do not need to do the Manbreaker again. I've earned it. Unless he's gonna blow up the stairs when I go back down. Unless he's gonna be so upset that he blows up the stairs so I can't. Would he do that? Is he dead? Is he alive? I don't know if he is. What if I just go down there and he's dead? Well, then I'd probably want to find out. All right, we're doing this. Fur Mike. [screaming] Okay, Jim. You better be down here, Jim.

Oh my god. Is he not here? [__] off. Jim, where he fell off, right? Wait. Hey, what? Oh, well, I found this stupid construction hat. Good. I don't want it. Caused me nothing but trouble. Okay, but then is he not here? [snorts] Oh man, is he not here? Why wouldn't he be here? Why would he not be here? would he not Why wouldn't there be a gymized crater on the He literally I got to look it up. I'm I'm going to look it up before I do any [__] thing. I'm going to look up where Jim is.

All right. I don't know. I don't know where he is. I'm going to try the man breaker. Just I'm going to oneot it. That's what I'm going to do because it would take me just as long to do the other one, the stairs. I'll do that. If I can't one-shot it, I should be able to. I'm so good at this now. There's nothing that could possibly stop me because I'm so goddamn good. Got my Stadia controller. Everything's going to go my way and it's going to be no trouble whatsoever because that's how good I am. Oh, [__] No, wait. Hold on. Wait. I'm going to take the stairs. I'm going to take the stairs now. I'm going to take the stair. I've earned that. I've earned the stairs. These

delightful stairs. Wow. These are great. Wow. These stairs. These are really something. These are great stairs. Maybe this will make Jim appear. This is what I'm doing. IT'S A STRATEGY. YES. ALL OF YOU CAN AGREE WITH ME ON THAT ONE. THIS IS HOW I'M going to make Jim appear. Jim knows that I wouldn't use him stairs. So, I'm using these to summon him so that he can appear and I can be like, "Hey, Mike, need your help. I'm doing this for Mike. This is actually me playing 5D chess with Jim." And I'm beating him again because I'm going to be like, "Hey, you threw yourself off the mountain. I didn't know how to find you because apparently you weren't at

the bottom in a bloody crater. So I assumed that you were just hiding crying somewhere in a corner because you're such a coward that you can't face the fact that you can't beat the manbreaker, but I did. So, I took your stairs to walk over all over your accomplishments to be able to This is actually trickier than I thought it would be. To actually walk all over your accomplishments and this is actually insult to injury of which the injury is both the mental injury and anguish that I gave you by beating your system with the manbreaker and then the actual injury of you falling and throwing yourself. Is he dead? Where's the quad?

I have a funny feeling he might actually be dead. And I threw myself off this for nothing. I got to tell you, this is way better. Way better than the man breaker. Oh man, it's a little repetitive and boring, but hey, boy howdy does it get you up there. That was nice. But in actuality, if Jim did appear at the end there and I was a clever game programmer program programmer, I'd be like, "Okay, this is how indeed this is how indeed you were supposed to get Jim back because then Mike can be saved." Unless I'm saying that because Jim did throw himself off and just look at the sweat on that guy. I feel like I kind of wanted to take the man

breaker spot and then jump onto the stairs halfway because honestly I think it might be a little faster. No, I don't think it's faster. It's just I don't know this my brain I'm going crosseyed. Ooh. Can I get over there? No. I'm not going to do it. I'm not Can I make over there? No. But I could have made it to the man breaker or uh to here from the manbreaker. That would have been pretty fun. get halfway up and then I do this and everyone would be very oppressed. I don't actually think I could make that jump. I mean, I could throw myself from here onto there, but that has never worked out well. Falling down the manbreaker has not been good for me.

Plus, I'm on a mission to summon Jimothy. And I am not doing these steps right. Uh, okay. If I fall down this, am I gonna actually spiral all the way down? I don't think so. I'd get caught on the railing, right? Maybe. Snake. Hey. Hey, wait a minute. Hey, don't Are you Are these slide Are these stairs going to turn into a slide real quick? Holy hell. When you're climbing the Manbreaker, you don't realize just how high you go. This is absurd. Okay, finally, Jim, now's the time to pop out.

[__] Okay, well, that was a big waste of time for nothing at all. Okay. Wow. I've accomplished so little. So little this episode. I've accomplished so little. Wow. Oh boy. I looked for Jim. Maybe Jim is all the way back at the bottom, but [__] that. I'm not doing that, you know. And I'm glad that Nathan's finally standing up for himself and not taking any [__] from nobody. Nobody at all. In fact, maybe he should kill everybody. We're really dumb. But also, we explored everything possible and we know exactly what to do, right? Just walk with confidence. What if I all I have to do is just walk normally and I'll I'll be

fine. It's weirdly easy to climb the snow. Foot kind of digs in. Never mind. So, I got to be on my way cuz I can't waste any more time about this. Okay, so we just got to walk up a narrow ridge line. And that's not too bad all things considered. I don't even need to walk along the ridge line. Really, I don't think anyway. Not perfectly, anyway. All right, I'll walk on the ridge. Okay. All right. I get it. Yep. It's probably not as risky as it seems. So, I don't think I need to be this cautious. But why?

Why risk it? You know, sometimes on slippery surfaces, it actually is better to do it at a kind of a pace because if you do it too slow, you give your foot a chance to slip and slide. And you really don't want to do that on certain inclines because if you do then, you know, you're just going to lose traction and then you're going to overcompensate and you're going to fall, right? So sometimes the quick moves may seem risky, but actually it's the safer bet, right? As long as you can keep up the repetitive motion, you'll be fine. Like that is really hard to get up if you're not going quick. those kind of like super mountainous surfaces where they have a different texture where obviously

it's like this is supposed to be almost unclimbable. You really want those spots to have as much traction as possible which means quick most of the time. All right, we've reached a flat. Okay, so that was interesting. Not terrible. Not what I would call the hardest thing I've ever seen, but I should be generally clear to go from now wherever it's trying to get me. Although that mountain up there is really tall. Okay, that'd be bad to go slide down that. That might be my f uh fighting in pain. Fighting. Flouting. Fouting. shouting, shout, fou, fou, shout. I don't know how to help you. Let me just go see real quick if there's anything

else that I need to do. I mean, those mountains seem really far away, so I' I've got a long way to go before I get to any kind of peak. There was that like train car thing. I feel like it was over this way. Not sure though. Not sure how essential it is to get all these side things. I mean, I know it probably is very beneficial to do it. Okay. Oh my god, Mike. Come on. Give it a rest. Okay, so the trick here is that is nearly impassable by the looks of it. I'm talking about the path that's that goes like where that snowcovered tree is. I'm guessing there's a gap there and

that doesn't look very easy to pass. Maybe. All right. I owe it to Mike to at least Well, I don't know if this is going to help Mike at all, but I owe it to someone to try to take a look a little closer before I give up. But where am I going to go from here? I don't think I can make that. And it does seem like if I just go up higher, I could make it up and over the other way. So, let me do that because that feels smarter than what I was doing. Great view, though. Not going to deny. Great view. Really stunning. I don't think I can make it up that way. I think I need to go up the way I went was going and then just come back down around it if I was going to do that. And then that also might still be a one-way ticket to go down. But then again, it

might be a thing where if I find Moose and it could be a way to return back to where I was. You know what I mean? It might just be a convenient return. Could be. Possibly not. Definitely. Almost probably not. Whoa. I can't believe I didn't fall. Okay. I think this feels right. Or it doesn't. Or it absolutely doesn't. And I was completely wrong. What the hell? Okay. I guess I could go down there. Try to go across that and get up there, but that's that's also tricky. I'll try something.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Easy there. Easy, Nate. Okay, so if I fall, I don't know how far I'm going to go, but it'll probably be pretty far. Oh god. Okay, there I go. That's bad. That's really bad. I hope the hat isn't up there higher. I got a bad feeling the hat's up there higher. Might have lost the hat. Oh, no. Good. Oh, thank goodness. Couldn't lose the hat. All right, let's go. I knew that probably wasn't going to work. I probably could have gotten it if I'd had a bit more practice on that. Um, but my skills at compensating for slips

and slides, especially going sideways, are not what they used to be. But I think this might be navigable. Yep. Totally possible. And then I can go laterally that way or maybe up this way. Damn, it's beautiful and expansive, but there is a whole lot of nothing up here. But I think I can go this way. No. Yeah, this will be fine. Okay, it's big and empty. Well, that makes a lot of sense, I guess. Huh. Okay, let's see if I can find a side path to that train. It really wasn't that bad to get up here. So, wow.

This is just a big empty, huh? Wow. That's kind of crazy. Now, again, is that the same mountain repeating all the way across there? I don't know how they're doing that. It's really funny. Why does my shadow seem so big and stupid looking? Is that how I walk? Is that how stupid I walk? Man, my shadow seem dumb there. Okay, so I see the light glowing there in the distance. I feel like it's right below me, but Oh, yeah. There's a light glowing both places. All right, I think I should go down here. Let me see if there's a gentler. Yeah, that's probably This is fine.

Keep your feet. Got it. Damn. I'm good. Damn it. Got to be getting close. Where's that train? There's probably going to be a whole lot of nothing again. Just like falling down the other way. The train. Okay, cool. Good, good, good. Okay, I was right. So, I need to go more left because I got to make sure I come down right on it because if I don't, like I don't think that there was any other way besides coming right down on it. This is probably going to make me lose my hat, but you know, could be worth it. Could be worth nothing. I don't know. Okay, looks like there might be a kind of slide down that way, but I do not like it.

The path I see is kind of down that way, but how do you get there? I could do another footy, a foot slide. I feel good about my chances. Okay. Easy. Oh, no. Yep. Easy. No, no, no, no. Let's lose the momentum. Yeah. It's steep. I know. Come on. You could do this. This is nothing. [__] This is nothing. Does seem like that there's a path uh wrapping around the other way. That might have been a little easier.

Okay. If we slide, this is fine. Just make sure we're sliding controlled. We can slide. We just can't let it get out of control. Yep. You're fine. Okay. We got to Maybe not. It's like half sliding half the time. Okay. We got to We're going to slide. Oh, going to slide. Oh. Oh, god. No. Oh, [__] Stop. Please. Stop. No. Stop. Oh my god. Please stop. Are you kidding me? Stop. Please. No. That gave me momentum. Oh [__] Oh god. Okay.

Holy [__] Oh [__] me. Ah, I forgot to lean back cuz what happened was I was trying to put the feet forward, but then I was pushing forward on the stick when the foot wasn't lifted, which only pushes him forward. And so to compensate that is not to lift the foot again. It's to lean back on the stick so that you can control uh the center of gravity and then he won't fall. And there's a phone ringing in here. Okay. Is this going to tell me how to save Mike? cuz it is directly above Mike, I think, if I'm remembering where I am. Right. Okay. Door probably has holes in it and probably would go right through him if I let my foot go through it. So, let's not Perfect.

Good. Is it in here or is it in there? I think it's in here. It would make sense. It's in the more precariously perched one. Can I walk on that? Yes. Oh, hello wheel. Okay, get Oh my god, Nate, if you let that wheel ruin your balance, I'm going to be so mad. Okay, should I go? How do I Oh my god, there's like a lad. I bet there's a hole at the end. Oh my god. Yeah. Oh god, this is so much worse than I ever could have imagined.

Okay. Wow. Holy [__] That's nutty. Okay. Okay, we're fine. I'm losing a sense of anything here. Okay. Oh my god. Oh, [__] this. What in the [__] Oh, I'm sliding. Why am I sliding? No matter what, I should try to stay to the left or the right cuz if I go through the center, there's every chance I'm going to just bounce right off and go sailing through the center hole. I want to set my foot on that briefcase. I think that's by design. Yep. Other foot on the other briefcase. Please just get it off. There we go. Yes, this is what we wanted. There's a ladder in the center. I think that theoretically could work. I'm just going to move my foot a little more over to

the side. Yep. So that I can lift this. I can't get my foot around. There we go. Foot around and then down right here. Okay. I think what I could do is put a foot on that left seat kind of down that way. Yeah, Nathan, you know what I'm talking about. But it's got to be pretty precise on it cuz otherwise There we go. And then I think I can heal this ladder all the way down. I have this idea that I could go along the couch cushions along the top left, but I'm thinking it actually won't work out that way because it'll just um Wow, I cannot see what I'm aiming for here. There we go. I just don't think it would have worked out that way. Can I lower my foot here?

There we go. Easy. Uh-huh. Okay. Yep. [snorts] It's okay that I hit my heal on it. Kind of like doing that cuz then I know for sure still on target. Okay, this might be a little tricky. I think I can do it. Oh my god. Don't like that. Okay. I think my heal is on the edge there, which means that I think Yep. Okay. Okay. This one's longer, which might make it a bit more difficult. I think I have to do that move that I do sometimes where I hop kind of like let one foot land and hop down cuz it's a bit too far. If I let it reach, you know, I

don't think it's going to make it. So, I got to be ready to hop it like shift quickly from one foot to another. I think I got to Yep. There we go. Little shaky on the end. I could have slid done the hop slide on the top of it and gone down to this briefcase, but I felt like that was just a bit too far to trust to that drop cuz the momentum might have carried me a little farther and faster than I would have liked. I hope I don't know what I'm on. I can't see anything. Wow, that's crazy. I can't see [__] What the [__] Well, that sucked. Okay. I want to put my right heel on that armrest and then my left foot down below it if I can.

Yeah. Put this down. Wish I could see where my foot is. I don't Oh, [__] off. No. God damn it. Oh. Oh, wow. That I can't believe that worked. I can't believe that worked out for me. What the [__] Okay, there's a phone at the end. That was my only chance. [__] the hat. I'm I'm not going back for it. I got to get this phone if it's the last thing I do. Foot there. Yep. Wish I could see my feet, but that's all right. Oh, no. Okay. Could have been better, but I'll take it. My I'm a little shaky right now. So, imperfection is to be expected. I think this works to my advantage because I think I can actually put a foot down on this cushion. And if I do slide, it'll

be pretty slow. Yeah, I can do this. Yep. The trick is I want to get down, but the only way to do that [__] crap. It's okay. Yep. That was good. Okay. Oh, thank [__] Do this. Yep. That's great. Can other controls slide low and to the right, minimizing my chance of uh catastrophic failure. Whoa. Where's that foot? I can't see [__] Wow. Okay. I think the cautious answer is to go up and over. And the less cautious is to go left and then take a slide.

Is there enough room up there for me to go all the way up and over? Yeah, there's room. They probably put this indent here. WA. They put that indent there just for that reason. But wow, I don't like that. Oh, hello. There we go. Junior, it's Dad. Hey, Dad. Hi. Your mother wanted me to call Thanksgiving. We're just trying to figure out Oh, you going to be here? Well, I'm kind of uh I'm a little stuck right now. I'm trying to kind of climb a crash train hanging off a cliff. Oh, really? Yeah. How's uh how's that going? It's good. I mean, I've gotten like halfway.

How's your uh how's your grip strength? Oh, uh I'm kind of just doing it just feet with my feet. Uh, okay. All right. Well, never mind. Uh, so I'm gonna put you down as no for Thanksgiving. Yeah, that's fair. Yeah. Great. All right. Thanks. Uh, take care, buddy. All right. Uh, how's See you soon. Yeah. Is your stuff all Uhhuh. Good. Yeah. Everything's going great. Mhm. Good. Great. Yep. Okay. All right. Talk to you soon.

Yep. Uh Yep. Okay. All right. Okay. Yep. Yeah. Love you. Okay. All right. Bye. Okay. First off, that phone caller is nice and wow, it's getting better. But holy [__] are you telling me that I was supposed to climb up this thing and not down? I just spent Got to be [__] me that this is an up challenge and not a down challenge. It was so quiet, too, when I was going down it. I was like, "Oh, man. And they're allowing me time and energy and space to concentrate. Wow, that's so kind of them. Holy [__] I am so stupid. I can't believe myself. And I can't believe you all let me do that. I don't care if all of you think you were screaming at the screen. I feel so like Nate right now. I'm I'm I'm embodying Nate.

How did I even do this? I don't even know. I really thought I was doing some incredible thing where I was uh conquering this obstacle using all of my skill, which apparently I have, but the brains to use the skill non-existent. I have the withall, but not the wear of the withall. You know, you know what I mean? Can't believe I have to do this again. I am so upset. Wow. Wish. Whoa. Wish my foot wasn't doing that. What the [__] What the [__] What is happening? Whoa. What are you doing, Foot? What are you doing? You good?

Oh [__] Oh, wait. Nope. There we go. Easy. They said this train was hard. I don't know who they is, but they said it, not me. Oh god. Whoa. This seems like a much more logical climb to go up than down. Weird, huh? Oh, my hat. I forgot I lost my hat. Easy. It's practically uh practically child's play. basically nothing to it. Oh, what the [__] Whoa, whoa, whoa,

whoa. Energetic now. Okay. I cannot believe I did this backwards. You know what's funny is like even I look at my own lack of forethought and I wonder to myself how I managed to come to the conclusions, you know, that's actually not a good idea. Why am I doing that? What would have happened there is if I'd have kept up that direction, my upper body was hitting the wall and therefore if I had tried to go any higher, it would have eventually uh knocked me over just by pushing my center of gravity too far. And sometimes Nate does that anyway where he's like he's too far off and then he'll just like I'm giving up now.

Oh my god. Please do not slip and fall off the mountain at this point. Oh my god. Almost did exactly that. All right. I wasted again so much time. H I mean it was important that I did that because it is important to say like oh Nate is getting more confident in his speech even to his dad and to everyone that he talks to. basically he's talking more like you know his full personality and I think that's good and that shows some growth even if he's dead and he had that interesting conversation with his dad which might have just been a reliving of a previous conversation although I don't know how realistic the I'm climbing a train dad is but you know I don't know if this is the best idea

but I think I can make it back this way okay made it up that and then I think I just make it up to the left there and I'm back to where I was which is really something. I still don't know how to save Mike. I tried. You guys saw I tried. I spent a lot of time trying. And that's all I can say. And that's all I can do, you know. Okay. So Oh. Whoa. Camera's doing that on its own. I'm not doing that. Weird. I mean, super cool. Whoa. You know, doing this section, it reminds me of like being at the very beginning and you know, yeah, I couldn't take a few steps. It was very difficult, but now, and I think a lot of people probably get to this point when they

play this game, is like, yeah, we're all constantly walking forward without even letting go of the forward and we're keeping our balance. And I don't know, there's something weird about that. It's very autonomous. I don't feel, you know, the controls. And if I think too much about the buttons I'm pressing, then I suddenly lose control. It has to be like in that subconscious kind of feel like cuz it's a rhythm based on the sounds. And I can I could probably close my eyes and I can still walk. I don't even know if I'm going the right direction, but I think the only direction to go is towards that big mountain. So, yeah. Oh, cameras are turning to normal. I was having a great time. That was a very

self-reflective moment. And even if I haven't done everything perfectly, you know, I think maybe the point of this is not necessarily to do everything perfectly, but to try and overcome and just try no matter what. Even if you fail at certain aspects of it, you still have to keep moving forward kind of thing. The perseverance of it is what makes it beautiful and worth it, you know? And like even if you think it's too late, still trying is uh all that really matters in life. But now it's ruined because the camera's all closer and I can't get that cinematic a super wide, you know? I was having a great time. Hey, is that a fire? Moose.

Hey, moose. Oh my god, it's a fire. Okay, let me find a better drop in here because I might be able to ride this with a heel slide the whole way down. This might be if not if I fall right off the bat. I might be able to ride this. Okay, here we go. Yep. Oh, not if I cut forward. Okay, I think we almost had the hat. The hat pretty much followed us the whole way down. Is there a gentle valley entrance over there? Did I take that unintentionally without being necessary?

Probably. Was a hat. Oh, thank you. Hat. Nice. Yeah. See, if I didn't take the steep path and I fell, I might have lost my hat on a ledge or something. Oh god. There we go. Hey, look. A path would have been useful anywhere but here. Also, how is there a path here? Well, this looks cozy and nice. Oh, all right. Weird knock. Nate, who is it? It's Nate. Oh, hey Nate. Oh, hey. It's good to see you. Yeah. Is this your cabin?

Yeah. No. Uh, it's almost finished. Oh, it's looking warm. Yeah. Thanks. Yeah. It's a lot of work. Yeah. It's cold out here. Oh, yeah. No, I needed shelter. Yeah. So, uh, still headed to the top. Oh, yeah. Yep. Getting I'm going to go right there now. Okay. It's a good It's good to see you. Yeah, good to see you. Good night. All right. Who is it? Hey, sorry. It's Nate again. Yeah, I know. I was just I just wanted to see if you had finished the toilet.

Oh, yeah. I just put the finishing touches on it today. Oh, is it good? Well, I don't know. I haven't tried it yet. Oh, pristine. Yeah. What's that on the table? Oh, that's uh Yeah, I've been working on a little map. Oh, that looks cool. Yeah, well, I got to fill my time somehow. Are you also a cobbler? Yeah, I dabble a little bit. You look comfy. Well, good night. Oh, good night. Could I come in? Yeah. Do you want to?

Why didn't you say so? Oh, maybe just for a minute. I Yeah, just for a minute. Yeah, I just Okay, maybe I'll Maybe just stop in the toilet for Yeah. [snorts] Wait, wait, wait. Where's the toilet door? Moose, where's the toilet door? Oh. WHOA. OH, THAT'S IT. WAIT, BUT WHAT ABOUT MIKE? AH, [__] MAYBE, maybe it's because I made Jim. Oh, this is my actual journey. Oh, wow. Oh. Oh, god. It's my actual journey. Oh, no. Wait. Oh, man. Ooh. Oh, why did I go that way then? Oh, man. I Oh, I really tried to go up that way, didn't I? Oh, I really tried. Oh, AND I DID.

WHY DID I GO UP THAT WAY? OH, there's so many things. Holy crap. Wait, there's so much game that I missed in my journey. Oh. Oh, I spent a lot of time there. I remember. And then I looped. It looped. It does loop. That's where I was like, "Oh my god, it looped." That didn't make any sense to me. Then the portaotti, then I was there. And then somehow I was back where I was because it didn't make sense that I was back where I was because I looped. Oh. Oh man. And then I spent a long time trying to get the portaotty back up on its feet. Okay, I spent way too long. Yeah,

I spent way too I Okay, this is kind of revealing how long I spent trying to get the portaotty back. This is so cool because it's it is literally the journey that I took. Okay, and then I'm still trying to get the portaotty up. Okay, I give up and I really march fast. I'm like, I'm out of here. I got to get and then I get stuck a little bit and then I think I fall. What? Yeah, I fall there cuz I wasn't supposed to go that way for sure. And then I go up there and then Oh, yeah. I don't What did I just do? WHY DID I GO THAT WAY? I get the fruit. Oh, yeah. That's right. And then I go up into here and then I'm like, "Okay, watch this. This whole area somehow I was just like, "Okay, that's cool." I kind of meander a little bit.

Hey, frog temple. That's cool. And then just I miss everything. Everything in this area. I missed absolutely everything. Then I go for the toilet. And then I go up and I take way too long to go a very short distance. Trophy cave. Oh my god. I got to get this map. How do I get this map? Oh, and then I went up that way. I thought I took Yeah, I looped and then I fell back down. I went up again, right? And then I teleported somehow. Learning leap. I did not jump off. I did not jump off. I went back to retirement village and I looped back around. Oh my Whoa. Oh my god. Right. Sleepy lady. Yeah. Oh, I spent way too long here.

Yeah, the I tried to go up the wall. That didn't work for me. What did I just do? Oh, right. I tried This is right. I tried to go to the fire tower multiple. There was a path to the left. Look, the fire tower's Oh, why did I go the long way? Oh, why did I try to Oh my god. Why did I go the long way? Oh man. Whoa. What is wrong with me? Oh, what is wrong with me? Oh man, what is wrong with me? Oh man. Oh, this is embarrassing. Then I got mad and then I go fast. That's what happens. I get mad and I go like, I'm out of here. And then you go up in the hand. Uh-huh. Slippery slope. I never even saw that. Then I tried this a few

times. Milk mode. Good. It was milk. Then he went in the cave. And then the cave was fun. Cave was kind of a mystery. That's fun. Just a lot of up and around and up. Then I fell then up again. That's right. And straight shot out. Wow. I was kind of surprised that there weren't any more fires up here cuz I Oh, mom and dad up there. I explored a lot of this um area. I thought anyway. But I must have missed stuff, too. I don't even remember Milk Lake. I thought I explored a lot of that. Like I thought I had looped already. What the hell? Well, I didn't I did the seesaw thing. I didn't see any of this.

And then I went this insane path that I did. There was literally Why would I do that? the salt mine. Ah, and then the man breaker. You guys are going to see how many times I had to go up the [__] man. Oh, wait. No, I forgot. Yeah, I went down to there and then I had to go the I had to go all the way. It took a long time to get back up. Yep. I lost a lot of progress. Yep, that's right. But then I did it. Then I went right back up. And then I went right and then I got the hat. That's right. I fell when getting the hat. That's what it was. Manreaker. This is going to be hilarious to watch. Donk. See, the first two times I did so good. Oh, it's turning black. Oh my god.

I mean, this shows that there's no lies in here. This shows exactly what I did. So, you guys can stare at the horror of how many times I tried this [__] thing. Donk, donk, donk. Oh, and then I think I made a good amount of progress here. I think I made it almost all the way up. Then don I kind of landed halfway and then I like somehow snatched halfway and then I made it through there. I think I got all the way up to thinking. Yep. All the way down. Then I fall again. And then I started to rage and I fall again. Climb up. Fall again. Yep. I got I was starting to get really mad. Yeah. See, I cut out so much. But then I was pretty much locked in and I

could make it all the way back up. And I might fall again. Yep. And then I think one more time up to the top. Oh, I got tilted again. Oh no, I got mad. Yep, I got mad. Okay, I got mad again. Okay, but the next time I get to the top, you're going to see I get the Stadia controller and things go great. And this is it. I think this is it. Stadia controller. Never mind. I fell again and again. Okay, this Nope. This is the Nope. This is the one. And then boom, did it. That's it. And that's all there was to it. Easy. Me going around like that is me practicing again because it been a while since I played tried all this. I still don't

know what happened to Mike. Wait, what is that over the How did I miss? I kept thinking that I looped, but I didn't loop when I thought I looped. That's so weird. Okay, this is when I tried to get the hat way too many times. Again, you probably didn't see most of it. Could have grabbed it at any point. Didn't. Man, this is the one thing about this game is I thought I was exploring everything. I realize now I didn't touch half and then I jump back down and I'm like, I'll try the man breaker again. And then I do the stairs. Yep. And that's what taking the stairs looks like. That was very fast. Okay, then this is me in this episode. I go up here. I look around for a train. And then I do a really stupid thing

and I say, "Hey, I must need to go down the train. This must be the challenge. You guys just saw this." Wait, was there a path? Wait, with that hat place, if I'd have gone back and up the other way, was there a path up there? That would have been That would have been ridiculously helpful. Why didn't I have that? What? And then that's the end. What? Okay, that took a very long time. Oh, hey, look. I'm where I always am. Go for a walk. What would that do? I was thinking, oh yeah, you know, never mind. Okay. Really? Wait. No. I was thinking maybe I should go for a walk.

A walk? Yeah. Who are you and what have you done with Nate? Yeah. No, it doesn't really make sense, does it? No. Okay, I'll just let me just go back now. No, no, no. Oh, no. I really feel like I should walk. You really got ants in your pants this morning. I guess I do. How is it out there? It's really cold. Yeah. You know what? Maybe I'll just finish this nap. Actually, no. I really feel like something's compelling me to go for a walk.

Well, you know, if you got to do it. I feel like I got to do it. Just remember what I said about the top of the mountain. There's nothing up there. White triangle, etc. Yeah. No, I remember that whole thing. I won't expect anything more beyond this point. Okay. It's just a walk for its own sake. That's I'm going into that understanding. I'm going into this understanding. Matt, dinner is at six. Okay. Yeah. No, I'll be back. Yeah. Okay. All right. Oh, nice kiss. Oh, I left my hat though. H damn. Okay. So, that's really funny.

Uh, I don't know if I want to try to get to the top of that mountain because holy [__] that's way taller than I ever thought it'd be. Um, so I don't know about that one, gang. Uh, that looks like it would take another hour or longer, especially if it's just a challenge. Um, cuz wow, that is big. Um, let me just get a sense of how to get there first and then I'll end this episode because I know this is technically the end of the game, but you know, I've got all this skill, this climbing skill. What am I going to do with it? Nothing. Okay, well, maybe I'll not, but it seems like Out of the Valley is over there. I do think though, if I'm

going to use this as a moment to wrap up my thoughts about this game, I really am surprised at this game, at how much I like this game and the mechanics of it. The simple act of walking uh is so satisfying once you start to get a hang of it. And it's so weird to say that about the simple act of walking is I am satisfied to play this game about walking where all I'm doing is controlling my feet, but it takes skill to do it and therefore it's satisfying. There's a skill curve. Um, and I've kind of reached high up on the skill curve because I can even walk up a hill with just holding the stick and go with pretty much confidence that I'll be all

right. I want to get good at uh walking on ice. That I feel like would be a pretty tough Whoa, almost lost it right at the top. I feel like that would be a pretty tough challenge. Huh. Interesting. I just want to get a sense of the scope of this because I have a funny feeling it's going to take a very long time to get up there. But I again I'm just completely surprised at how much I like this game. I think that the only thing I would say is like I wish I knew more about Nate's story and why he's here in the first place. And I get the idea that he's dead and whatnot and this is like some kind of afterlife and that's fine. I don't mind that. But I feel like

there's many things that were left unsaid. Uh but I'm not going to be critical about that because I think there's many things that I didn't find in the game. Plain and simple. I think that there's many, many things that are out there waiting for me to discover them and yet I didn't find them because I just missed like half of this game. So, learning more about that, I've only got that phone call thing. I only saw one other before that and I'm sure there were more. I'm sure there were. So, like knowing that there is probably way more to this game than what I'm seeing, it leaves me thinking that if I want the resolution to Nate's story here, or at least more satisfaction to it, and figuring out how to save Mike, which I

still didn't do, and I'm I don't know about that one. I think maybe because I decided to do the Manbreaker. Uh both of them got horribly stopped from their journey and that's good. I think maybe not really. Am I going the right way? Feel like I'm going a long way around for nothing. But maybe not. I just want to get to the base of it so that I can start this with like without exploring and be like, "Yeah, this is the challenge." But this was great. Really truly great. I often times felt frustrated. But the frustration was only the kind of frustration you get when you want to overcome a challenge. When you've got a challenge in front of you that you think you can beat and it's beating you at

that time and it's only a matter of time until you gain the skill and confidence to be able to beat that challenge, right? That's the only thing that was frustrating. It's frustrating by design, but not even at a way that like getting over it was. Whereas I did not like the control scheme of getting over it. I was very open to that. And I think that many of the controls just like felt so inconsistent, I could never wrap my head around it truly. Uh kind of like how the uh the ice walking is in this game. Uh but when it comes down to just the actual core mechanic of it, I think I get a I've got a really good feel for it and I feel very confident in my ability to do it. Uh especially at speed and I find that really satisfying. And

then the world is just so bizarre and it's such a fun sandbox to be like, "Yeah, he's dead and this is the afterlife or something like that, you know? I'm super glad I played this game. I'm very satisfied with my experience playing it." And god damn it. How do you even Oh, man. Oh, was I supposed to go Oh, HOW WAS I OH, was I supposed to go up that way? Oh, I think I see it. Oh, god. It's right there, isn't it? Oh, [__] me. Mother [__] All right. Yippee. [screaming] Slide. Slide, man. Oh, really? That time you don't slide. The time I want you to slide, you don't slide at all. You son

of a [__] I thought that was like, there's no way that could be the way to go up. But that is it, isn't it? Damn it. God damn it. Hate this game. I hate it. Hate this game. All right. You know what? I'm going to leave it right here cuz I can get back to that later. Oh, look at me walking backwards like a champ. All right, so that's the challenge. I see it now. Thank you everybody so much for watching. I am going to do one more of these. Um I'm going to get to the top of that mountain and even though it might be unbelievably precarious and uh kind of horrible and you know that's what I'm here for. Thank you everybody so much for watching. Let me know what you thought down in the comments below. And

as always, I'll see you in the next video. Bye-bye. [screaming]
