The real is live. Our friend Mel B is back and holding it down as guest co-host. And Cardi B reveals why she's standing by her man offset. I don't know, man. There's something there. Oh, what is it? Then Serena Williams husband welcomes her back to tennis in a big way. So awesome. Plus, Jay August Richards is in the house. I'm here for all of it, you guys. The real starts now. This is our minute. This is our time again right now. we got a choice right now.
I don't know. Start right now. YOU WHAT UP Y'ALL? Happy hump day. H. I know. I miss you guys so much. Okay, so check it out. Our girls Tam is still out sick. Drink those fluids and get some rest. Girl, we miss you so much. But back with us today is our girl, Spice Girl, Mel B. Mel, we love having you here. So much fun with Mel. Yes. Everybody laughing at me. We love you. And we know it's early, so we appreciate you getting up and filling in for town. We really do appreciate last minute. I thank you for having me again. Last minute like girl come through. Okay. So, I know yesterday it was kind of we got a lot of juice out of Mel. It was good. But I want to know, Mel, are you ready for live girl chat today?
Yes, I am. Okay, here we go again, people. Make sure to head over to the Real Daytimes Instagram page and use the hashtaggirl chat live to join in on our convo. And while you're there, make sure to click on our story and vote for which topic you want us to talk about later on in Girl Chat because it's all about what you want today. Both choices are very juicy, I got to say. Right. I can't wait to see what everybody picked. I know. So, make sure you guys do that. And before we begin, I just want to shout out this amazing event I got to attend last night. It was a fundraiser for the Women's Cancer Research Fund.
Um, it was a wonderful event. It was called an unforgettable evening. And Women's Cancer Research is uh co-chared by Steven Spielberg and his wife um and also uh Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson. Great event. It raises so much money for cancer research for women. Jennifer Hudson was there. She was one of the honores. Uh Sophia Regar Vagara was there. And also my man PIT BULL PERFORMED YOU GUYS. He's so fun. LOOK AT YOU. YEAH, I GOT THAT. HE TOLD ME TO TELL YOU LADIES HELLO. And he's coming back to the show real soon. So, thank you. I HAD A WONDERFUL TIME.
Love it. Up next, you can call Cardi B a lot of things. A Grammy Award nominee, a dope rapper, and now you can also call her a covergirl. Oh, B is playing as the April cover girl for Cosmo magazine. There it is on news stands now. And if you think we keep it real, you ain't heard nothing yet. In the very candid interview, Cardi addresses the rumors of her fiance offset cheating on her head on. Cardi says, quote, "It's not right what he did, but people don't know what I did cuz I ain't no angel. Everybody is coming down my neck like, why aren't you why are you not leaving him? You have low self-esteem. I don't have low self-esteem. I know I look good. I know I'm rich. I know I'm talented. I know I can get any man I want.
Any basketball player, football player, but I want to work it out with my man. And I don't got to explain why. Yeah, that's her. That was And I don't got to explain why. This is my life. So, ladies, what do you think of Cardi Speaking her truth? Well, it's refreshing. I got to say, you know, cheating, I think, in most couples relationships is the ultimate breakage, right? It's hard to get back from that. But when she says that for her own reasons, she wants to stick it out and work it out with her man. Why are we judging? Because actually Jesus says forgiveness is the ultimate peace in life. This takes a lot of people.
Said that she's not an angel herself. Yes. Exactly. Owning that is a big one. I think the issue for some people is that we see what he's done. We don't know what she did, right? So, it's kind of like we're judging him because we don't know what we've seen, you know, allegedly like these leaks and these other women. We haven't seen what she's done. So, has she really done anything? That's the question everybody's like, h have you really done anything bad or is it just you just taking up for him? I think a lot of times also the time frame is a big difference too. We don't know when those videos came out. We don't know what was going on in their relationship during that time. We don't know. And when we understand what she says
sometimes. OH MY GOD. DOES ANYBODY else feel LIKE NO, BUT YOU HAVE A BRITISH ACCENT. SOMETIMES WE DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU SAY. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN? Even when you read the lyrics, like when you read what she says in the songs, like I'm from the P's. Is that the project? I'M FROM THE WAIT, WHAT YOU SAY? I'm from the P. Yeah, that's that's And now I'm I'm in a crib with a gate.
Yeah, one of her lyrics. She's from the projects. Now she's at a house. Why didn't she just said projects because it probably didn't rhyme or fit in that lyric moment, so she made it her own. But no, real life, they actually do call the projects the P's in New York or they call them the PJs. I mean, at the end of the day, what we really drop low to No, PJs in New York are projects. Like, yo, I love me and get some money. Like, I just all of it, you know what I mean? I just love it goes above. Yes, it does. So, do you understand when she's explaining when she goes off on, you know, her rants or when she talks about things that she's super passionate about like this? Like, you understand what she's saying here.
Yeah, but it's like her accent I don't quite get. I LIKE HER FOOD AND I LIKE HER CULTURE and I think good for you. You're doing WHAT YOU'RE DOING. BUT I DON'T quite get Why YOU LAUGHING AT ME AGAIN? SHE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND THAT SOMETIMES YOU GOT TO BE REGULAR. NO, I'm regular too, but you got to make sense of it. Yeah, I get what YOU'RE SAYING. BUT OKAY, do you Okay, do that and let's see if she can translate what you mean. Like say something in Cardi B language. Yeah. I don't dance now. I make money moves. Oh, I know what that means. Okay. Do you understand? Okay. Um, sometimes I'll be looking like a little dusty So, do you know what that means?
No. Sometimes you can look real fly, but other times you be a little dusty, like you're not all glammed up. Dusty as in ashy or dusty as in you've got dust. Sometimes you didn't put YOUR MOISTURIZER ON THAT MORNING. YOUR skin might be a little dusty. That's good. That's context clues. Absolutely. I'm nearly there. over there. It's a moisturizer. So, you know, she was saying, you know, sometimes you be a little dust, like you need to dust it off a little bit to see the precious.
We have a duster in England. Flaws. Oh, yeah. I love it. I'm trying to think of other things like she says regular. You guys know any other ones? Call them out to me. See, she don't know what regular schmegula is. Regular is like, you know, I'm just a regular girl. Um, just regular money. It doesn't even sound that money. But don't you feel what money? Just say money. But it's so much more fun. What about you? Sometimes British people say rubbish. Rubbish for trash. You have to explain that sometimes. Or like when you say I have to go to the L.
The L. Yeah. Right. Something yesterday and we were like, "Huh?" Wait. Mel said something yesterday. She said, "Oh man, now I'm not going to be able to remember." The point is you said something yesterday and me and Genie locked eyes like Yeah. Like all lies. That lie. NO, I DIDN'T. NO, BUT I UNDERSTAND SOME PEOPLE. YOU GOT TO SEE HER. When you see Cardi and you see her speak and move, you kind of put the context. A lot of the moves, you know, you'll understand the speed. But this is the thing about Cardi. Getting back to the subject of the cheating part, right?
We see her as this strong chick that's like no holes barred. You know, the way she talks, I'm about to make my money. I'm making money moves. And then when you hear her getting cheated on, I think that kind of makes us as women feel like, damn. You know what I mean? It's this supposed to be this strong chick, but then she's letting this dude do her. So, I think that it's just an emotional thing for a lot of women that feel like, you know, we looking up to her as being, yes, that's that girl. Why you letting this dude do this to her? But I commend her for standing up for her love because when you air your dirty laundry, that's true love. Okay? YOU'LL CAR IT OVER AND SHE'S FIGHTING for it still. And there is a there's a
misunderstanding that being strong means you have to leave in the sense of like you just said sometimes forgiveness is the strongest thing you can do always. It really is. But what I will say is this. Like I always say, we never really know what's going on in a relationship. You never know what happened in there. She doesn't have to tell us what happened in there. But I always say when you choose to stay, make sure that you accept what you chose to accept. Now, let me explain what I'm saying. Okay. Well, break it down. Okay. I have had girlfriends that have stayed in relationships where the guy cheated on them and then all we hear is what? Them complaining, them coming back crying. He's doing this. This is wrong.
Girl, you chose to accept the situation. Accept what you chose to accept. And I love Cardi for this because she's owning it, accepting it. I have issues with people that stay and are delusional. YES. DON'T BE DELUSIONAL. Know what happened. Say, "Oh, you know, he was just No, no, no, no, ma. You know exactly what happened. You know what's going on there. I think the golden rule to what you're saying is as soon as you know in your gut, in that intuition, whatever the Holy Spirit is saying to you, whatever it may be, when you know you deserve better, that's when it's time to leave."
Yes. Hands down. And sometimes you have that same feeling in your gut that says, "This is worth fighting for." To back that up, what she said after that though is that she said a lot of people judge her for being to have low self-esteem if you stay with the cheater. And she's saying, "I don't have low self-esteem. She can get whatever she wants and it's not about that." Is it for sure that he actually did cheat? Is it he did? We just don't know the timeline. Like, have you ever dated or messed with somebody and you're not like officially yet? Like, you're not officially and you're not official yet. Like, you haven't officially said we're boyfriend, girlfriend, we're exclusive. So,
everybody's kind of doing their own thing. that can really happen until you know you put a ring on the finger. Yeah, he's like leaked. They're leaked um uh videos of him and they keep getting released and so now every you know I just think it's somebody trying to mess up their relationship. So it's like and know who you're dating. You have to know who you're with. You have to know what they're capable of and more recognizes. Know what you're ready to stand for. Know what you're down for like you said and know what you're willing to take. Yeah. Well, no matter what a lot to say, we wish Cardi well and Offset get y'all yourself together. Now, one relationship that seems stronger than ever is Serena WILLIAMS AND HER HUSBAND, Ready
co-founder Alexis. Serena recently returned to the tennis court circuit following the birth of her beautiful daughter. I mean, she's so beautiful. And she received Oh my god, THAT BABY. ISN'T THAT LOOK AT THAT. OO, look at that face covering. Now, she received Serena one hell of a welcome back gift from her family. Alexis rented out four billboards on the way to Serena's next tournament, calling her the GM O, greatest mama of all time.
I love it. Okay. I knew you was like glad you brought that. And you know, these are billboards are all along I 10 where she's going to have to drive to the uh to the tournament so she'll be able to see it. Now, Serena responded to the Billboards on Instagram saying, quote, "Literally, I'm crying. This is so sweet. I love you." Now, ladies, the film Three Billboards might win best picture at the Oscars this weekend, but do you think Alexis should win the award for best husband? I don't know. What? HERE WE GO. THE DIVORCE CHICK ON NO, I'M I'M ALL HERE FOR LOVE. I'm celebrating moms all day and everything, but like No. Serena's crying, but I'm crying, too, cuz sometimes I need the sign to know where the nearest restroom is or
where the next Chick-fil-A is. DID THAT REPLACE THOSE SIGNS? OH, YOU SIGNED. NO, up there. It would have been real estate. They don't make a whole billboard stand. He had to take some important sign down to put that up. And I just want to know like where the next Sizzler is. You're hungry on that road. YOU KNOW, I'M WAY MORE HAPPY FOR Serena than Sizzlas. Like this is Have you been on a long car trip where you need to know where the next bathroom's girl? That is not the signs. Those are the little ones on the side of the road and I don't even drive. No, she's actually my neighbor. So when you come over to MY HOUSE, YOU CAN'T WAIT.
SERENA IS YOUR NEIGHBOR. YEAH, she lives two doors down. That's so cool. How did you know that she moved in? Well, the whole neighborhood knew. How isn't it private? I would think. But still, because it's so private, everybody knows someone who's in the neighborhood. Did you bring her a cake? Like a I am going to I'm going to do I'm going to bake a Victoria sponge cake. Really? Yes. Will you take a picture and then send it to me so I can act like I'm your friend?
Okay. Or just come over with me. I CAN COME WITH YOU. OH MY GOD. That's so cute. You would make a phenomenal neighbor. You would make a GREAT NEIGHBOR. I'M SO EXCITED. I'M SO GLAD WE'RE FRIENDS. THAT'S ACTUALLY A BIG THING THOUGH when you move into a neighborhood. It is so important to me cuz because it's a community and you have to watch out for each other. You got to greet your neighbors. I love that you do that. I did that with my neighbors and now they're I haven't done it yet. I am. But you're going to call me when you do it. So I'll come, you know, and you know, just let me in. Make sure my name is at the gate so I get in.
You know what I'm saying? This is the thing. I put this on my Instagram um because I thought it was just a lovely Jessie and there were a couple of people that had of course comments like you know um he could have spent that money on you know donating and charity and I'm like I'm pretty sure that man donates to charity. Okay, but it's his money. It was a great you know gesture of love. Let that man live. I think it's great. We actually want to know what you guys had to say. So, we've gotty greatest said, "That's the greatest push present of all time." I hear that. Then we have Lara Lion said, "H we love a king who shows off his queen like
this." And at BP Pinky19 said, "Being a working mom is hard, but having support like this from your man is amazing. Love it." Yes, I'm here for it. I got a question. If you um if who would you want to give you a billboard? Me. Yeah. If you could have anyone put billboards up for you on your way home. I'm just single and I wanted to stay single. So it's fine. I KNOW HOW THAT FEELS. And how about you? Same. Same here. How about you?
No. She won't even accept flowers. She won't let somebody give her flowers she doesn't like. Flowers. Come on. Flowers? No. It's not that I won't accept them. I don't I just don't love them. There's other ways that you can show me love. There's I got flowers in other parts you could touch, you know. Not much genie. But I'm just saying I get you. When after divorce you're just like let me just enjoy the freedom. That's what it is, right? Single though. Boom. There we go. We have to take a break. But don't go anywhere. There's so much more live girl chat on the way right after this with guest host. You are watching.
Welcome back to the real. Tamara is still out sick, so we've been chatting it up with our amazing guest co-host MEL B. This girl as me dying laughing on every commercial. AT ME? NO. AND WITH ME? With you? We're about to get back into some more live girl chat. You ready for the smell? Yes. Okay. The 90th annual Academy Awards take place this Sunday night and the Oscars have tapped the same host as last year. It's funny man Jimmy Kimmel to keep the evening light and fun. And if you think Jimmy Somebody's like, "Yes, Jimmy." And if you think Jimmy wants to avoid another fiasco, like when the wrong best picture winner was announced last year,
do you guys remember that? Yes. Well, if you think he doesn't want that again, you'd be wrong. Jimmy recently told Good Morning America that he actually likes it when things go wrong and that you do. And he said that it'd be funny if there was another mixup. Although he did suggest maybe, you know, color coding the envelopes this time around. WHY DO YOU LOVE IT? WHY DO YOU like it? Because it proves that it's actually live. Yes. I mean, when I do America's Got Talent, anything can go wrong. I mean, I've said some curse words by accident cuz I've been tasered by a magician and I've been PUT IN AWKWARD SITUATIONS. LOOK AT THE VIDEO.
OH MY GOD. WAIT, I THOUGHT THEY BLEEPED ME. OH, I MEAN, I didn't sign up for You got someone on a button here, too, just in case Lonnie does that. Yeah, in case I say I got IT. BUT THEY WERE LIKE THIS. but live is good. I like it. It gives you adrenaline. It makes you feel alive energy. I just hate like what happened last year at the Academy Awards with because I felt like that was a disservice to moonlighting because you know YOU WORK HARD FOR THAT. BUT YES OR MOONLIGHT. Moonlight was a winner too. Moonlight. Did I say moonlighting? SEE, YOU SEE HOW WE MADE THAT MISTAKE? IT'S just real. It's the reaction that shows you how people are though. So, I actually do like when things don't happen perfectly.
I hate perfect people who try to be perfect or perfect Instagrams or perfect like I like when you see the flaws when people are real. Yes. Because then you also can see how a person comes back from it. You know what I mean? Look, think about your marriages, your relationships, your friendships. Your friend is going to piss you off. Your friend is going to do you wrong. How does that person make it up to you? That's what really seals the friendship after, you know? Right. Well, I do like the point of also live like here we've made mistakes, you know, like I've come to work hung over, you know, because and I love that for you. But you guys, I'm super weird. I was I hate it when I mess up.
You do? You I really don't like myself. Look at this. It's live TV, people. I got a call at 2:00 a.m. to come on THE SHOW TODAY. 2 HOURS SLEEP. HEY, JUST SO EVERYBODY KNOWS, go on. Run me out. So, yeah, cuz this is live. Tell her. Full disclosure, we thought Tam would be able to make it in. She is really sick. As a matter of fact, um Adam had text me. He asked me, "What do you think?" I was like, "No, she should stay home. Just let her stay home." So, we called Melb at 2:00 a.m. and said, "Hey, can you come in and fill in?" And at 4:00 a.m. at Yeah. Because she has to be here. So, she basically had 2 hours worth of
sleep. But she looks fat. She was bomb. Really bad OCD, too. Amazing. So, at 2:00 a.m., I'm organizing my kids clothes cuz I have really bad OCD. Making sure that all their clothes are all aligned so my mother can, you know, get them dressed and take them to school. And then I've got like about an hour and a half sleep. See? Yeah. So, this is live TV, y'all. But this is how much we care about our fans. Give them a good show. That's right.
Yes. GIVING THEM A GOOD SHOW. I GET PAID how much we love Mel cuz we trust you. You know what I mean? We really do trust you. Mel's down to have fun. So if things go wrong, Mel is all down over. Yeah. You just roll with it. That's the thing, TOO. WHEN YOU ON LIVE TV, you got to roll with some stuff. You know what's ONE TIME THAT I DO THIS? YOU GOT TO GO. OH MY GOD. SEE, I DON'T LIKE THAT. Oh my gosh. It's not. OH MY GOD. WHY? I DON'T LIKE THIS. You die. I HATE IT WHEN I leave.
I hate it. I'm going to clean this. I'M NOT CLEANING THIS. IT DOES GET UNDER I noticed it gets under 18. It gets under my skin, you guys. Even if I'm reading Prompter and I like miss a word. I feel so disappointed in myself. Like I get like really frustrated that like I didn't do it. This bothers you really bad. This is really disturbing to me and I don't you just go in with it. WE GOING TO TAKE A BREAK AND CLEAN IT UP. AND NOW WE HAVE TO CLEAN IT. NO. COME ON. I DO MY OWN MAKEUP. WE'RE TAKING A BREAK. I'M NOT PLAYING with these people. DON'T GO ANYWHERE. THERE'S MORE LIVE GIRL CHAT ON THE WAY WITH these crazy people.
All right, welcome back. Our girl Tam is out. Still sick. Feel better soon, girl. It is time for some more girl chat. What? Before we wait for Jason and now Jason has to clean up. He does a great job. What's your name? And who are these fun friends with us? I'm Juliana. This is Kori. And this is Sudi, my daughter. Oh my gosh. Say, look at us. OH MY GOSH, YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL. OH MY GOD. Where are you from? BEAUTIFUL. WHERE YOU CALLING US FROM?
We're originally from Florida, but we're living in Mcdana, Georgia right now. Oh, so she's watching us on Fox 5. Okay. I love it. Now, we want to know it's the last day of February, right, Lonnie? We want to help you out by giving you a right to win some money. Okay? We're going to give you a chance right now. Here's how it happens. Yes. When I say go, you're going to have 20 SECONDS. FIRST OF ALL, PUT THE KIDS DOWN. PUT THE CUTIE babies down. Auntie Lonnie always looking out. Good job. Okay, here we go. When I say go, you're going to have 20 seconds to find something from around your house. But you got to make sure to leave
your phone so that your hands are free. Okay. Once you find the something I say, you're going to bring it back and show us so that you can win some money. Honey, okay, here we go. We want you to find a can opener and a can. DO IT. GO. YOU SAW HER MIND WORKING. 20 seconds. Your house is so big. It take you a long time. I know where everything is. I'M so big. YES, SHE did that fast. I had to think about where my can opener. Well, since you found the can and the CAN OPENER, YOU JUST WON. WHERE WAS IT?
Right in the kitchen. Right in the second drawer. Cuz you're AN ORGANIZED. YOU WIN $100, GIRL. CONGRATULATIONS. I love it. Thank you so much. LET ME SEE THE BABIES. PICK UP WHERE THEY AT? PICK THEM BACK UP. She came boooos. Yes, SHE LIKES THE CAMERA. OH, WELL, WE JUST thank you so much for watching the real. We love you guys. We love all of our real fam. So, CONGRATULATIONS ON WINNING $100. Look at her dimples. Adrian, such a cutie. Again, thank you for playing. We'll be right back with more of the real. All right. It's your girl. OH, WELCOME BACK TO GRAND. NOW, TAM IS STILL WITH THE FLU.
We hope she's back soon. But we're happy to have our guest co-host here today, Miss Mayo B. Give her A HAND CLAP, Y'ALL. SUCH A LIGHT. BACK AT SOME MORE LIVE GIRL CHAT. NOW, early in the show, we asked you to go on the Real Day Times Insta story and vote for which girl chat topic you wanted us to talk about. Now, here are your choices. Uh, Tiny embarrassing her daughter Zanique on Instagram or Nene Leaks embarrassing her husband Greg on Instagram. WELL, YOUR VOTES IN PEOPLE. It was close, but 52% of you wanted US TO TALK ABOUT NENE.
YEAH. OKAY. All right. So, we're going to talk about here. We listen to you. Nene Leaks is used to serving up shade on the Real Housewives of Atlanta, but lately she's been serving up looks on IG. Nene looks 50 and fabulous. a very revealing pic of herself in a black dress with a see-through top and no BRA ON THE GRAM. GONE all hang out. The picture got a lot of people's attention, including her husband, Greg. Now, according to E! News, Greg wasn't happy about Nene posting that racy pic, so she decided to delete it. Now, however, Nene did leave one sexy Greg approved pick up. There it is. That's he said that one's okay. Well, the thing is
it's already up there. So, why would she delete it if it's already been posted? Because it was showing too much. Yeah. Her people already have seen it. So, true. And people screenshot it like we did here and show it still. But you're just saying if it's already out there, it's it's here. I tell y'all, I know Nene and we're going to be performing um in LA at the Microsoft Theater. Yes. Thank you for that plug. UM BUT GREG IS A REAL OG. GREG ONE OF them old, you know, old very traditional man. very traditional, very you don't he don't want everybody seeing his woman. So, I can imagine him going, "N you got to take that down cuz
see that's inappropriate." I think she took it down as a respect towards him like, "Okay, I get it. It went out there. You didn't like it. So, now I'm going to take it out." Just to not rub it in his face. Why opposed it in the first place? I think I think she thought he would have been okay with it maybe. Yeah. They didn't have a conversation in a relationship together. And Greg isn't the type to always like nitpick every single thing she does. So when you hear your man speak up about one thing, you're like, "All right, do I really need to like make this a fight?" No, let's take it down. So I That's why I'm divorced. And that's what you don't have to ask. And I was going to say if a man like
seriously that is so true. I can't date somebody who's not going to allow me to just celebrate my sexuality. You know, if I feel sexy and you think I'm sexy, let me celebrate it because I don't know how long this is going to last. But would you do that though? No. If would I take the picture down? No. Would you take the picture with your nipples out? I got some good nipples. My panda eyes are nice. Yes, I would. Yes. So, then you need to marry somebody or date someone or be with somebody who is if you did that and you really like the guy and he said, you know, I'm not feeling comfortable. Would you take it down?
I don't know because I've always been who I am before, during, or after marriage. So, you're not going to be surprised when you date me. You know that if you see a panda eye, it's going to be a good one. YOU'RE NOT ANSWERING MY QUESTION, GINO. SO, THEREFORE, NO, I don't think so. I'm going to take it down. What if HE SAY I'M GOING TO BREAK UP WITH YOU? THEN BREAK UP WITH ME BECAUSE I'M going to find somebody who's going to appreciate the panda eye. I hear that. Maybe he appreciate BUT HE DON'T WANT EVERYBODY else seeing it. But that's okay. That's He needs to find somebody for him. It's not a wrong answer, by the way. The men out there who don't want their women to flaunt and share themselves for everybody,
that's okay. That's that's them. That's there for them. No, I'm saying for me, I'm going to find somebody who wants me to be who I am at all. Would you do that? I just said I got a nice panda eye. Yeah, I would. So, yes, she would post a picture like that. And two, she would let a guy leave her if he asked her to take it down. She would only date somebody who would be like, "Yes, girl. It looks amazing." Adrienne understands Japanese. She gets it. I get it. I love it. I post whatever I want, but if I think that a photo might be super risque that my husband would have an issue with, I ask him and every single time he's like,
"No, babe. You could post it." I love that you said that because one of my favorite posts right after you got married and you posted a beautiful lingerie shot and I know Adrian to be very comfortable with her body, very saucy and sexy. And when she posted that, I knew that not only are you still the same age, but Israel loves you the way he married you, too. The point I want to say is she asked him first. I did ask. What I will say is that's respect. But he knows who he married. BOOM. LIKE YOU STILL asked him and that's respect and I think out of respect and that's it. And on that note, we got to take a break. But there's MORE
OF THE REAL COMING UP AFTER THIS WITH MALE. I'M TALKING. Welcome back. Tamara still isn't feeling well. Girl, I hope you feel better soon. Our next guest is a very busy man. He's an actor, a director, and when he's not working, he's doing what he can to make the world a better place. Please welcome back our good friend Jay August Richards. LOOK AT YOU LOOKING ALL DAPPER. WELL, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Everything looking like a gentleman. And you're you're known as the gentleman tweeter. Why is that? Well, uh, my fans dub me the gentleman tweeter because I say please and thank you a lot on
Twitter and I very rarely clap back, but I do reserve the right to do so. I like that. And as the gentleman tweeter, I just want to say to you, thank you so much for having me back. It's such a pleasure to be here. We're happy to have you. You guys are always so warm and I think that's why the show is so successful BECAUSE YOU MAKE THE GUEST feel so comfortable. Thank you. Okay. Well, we think you're really warm and friendly, too, which is why we stalked your in, you know, we stalked your Twitter and we saw that you used to intern for Janet Jackson. How did that happen?
I used to intern for Janet Jackson in college. Uh, what happened was my friend was too scared to call her company to get the internship. We needed internships during college. So, she asked me to call for her. So, when I called the guy who ran the company, his name was Haime Mendoza. And Haime is actually my real first name, too. Really? So, when I called, he was like, "What's your name?" I said, "Haimeme?" He said, "That's my name." Uh, what are you doing in an hour? Can you come over? So, I ran down there and I took the internship FROM MY FRIEND.
I DID. It was kind of not cool. I did. Yeah. She's mad about it to this day. I would be, too. She's still salty. That is crazy. I know that you're a big supporter of the movie Black Panther. Yes. Why do you think that's so important right now? You know, I was really so moved by the whole Black Panther movement because I think it's really important for young black kids and children of color to really see themselves at the center of a narrative. Um, you know, to see themselves as a hero and it's really most important for the children, like when I was coming up, I believe that I'm an actor to this day because I wanted to be Luke Skywalker. When we would play games as
as a kid, though, they would never let me be Luke Skywalker because I didn't look like him. But I think it's great that now there's a movie like Black Panther where children can pretend to be Black Panther or the girl superhero. Yes. Well, you're no stranger to the superhero world because you play Death Lock on Agents of Shield and Wonderful. Thank you. Why is that so significant? Well, um, someone brought it to my attention the other day on a red carpet that I was probably the first African-American superhero on network television.
Wow. But the great news is that you can't say that at all now. There are so many superheroes of color all over TV right now. And I think that's a great sign of progress. YOU WERE THE FIRST. So you got to know what they say. Yes, that's what THEY TELL. HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH. That is awesome. The show you're on, Kevin Probably Saves the World, is all about small acts of kindness. How they actually can change and the world and have a big impact.
Have you ever uh performed a random act of kindness? Yes, I was inspired by my cast the other day. My cast did a food drive for the homeless in Atlanta. I was wrapped out so I was here in LA and one day I was uh on Sunset and I saw this homeless woman. She was drenched from head to toe. I don't know how she got wet and she was changing on the street corner and she was fully nude. So I went over to her and I asked her, you know, do you need anything? And she said, "Yeah, some baby oil and some cigarettes." So, I went to Walgreens though and I bought her a dress and I bought her a towel and some food and some baby oil and some cigarettes.
I asked for so awesome of you. Not only is he a kind person, he's an established actor, but now he's transitioning into being a director and WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU. YES. EXCITING. You're directing your YouTube series Giant. So, tell us about it. Yes. So, Giants is a labor of love of mine. It was created by my dear friend James Blland, WHO'S IN THE AUDIENCE. HEY, JAMES. So cool. Look at James. COME ON, SMILE SOME MORE, BRO. LOOK AT YOU. GOT YOUR HAT ON. YOU'LL SEE ME. SO, James created the show and uh it streams on the Isa YouTube channel and it's this really beautiful, heartfelt series about uh black millennials coming
of age in Los Angeles. and we deal with topics like mental health and uh what it means to have character at this time in the world and um you know what it means to find your purpose when you've lost it again. It's a really beautiful series. Do you like directing? I love directing. Directing is uh I didn't know if I wanted to be an actor or a director when I first moved to LA um when I went to USC, but I decided to start as an actor. Okay. You know, I started I decided to do that first. So, would you ever want to direct yourself? NEVER. WHY? I think you really have to be a master in order to do that. And I don't feel that I've reached that level of mastery yet. But maybe one day. Maybe one day I'll be like a Clint Eastwood.
But until then, I like to direct my dear friends like James. That's awesome. Are you a mean director or a nice one? Is he nice? He's a gentle one. Thank you. You could see that. Good answer. We always have so much fun with you though, Jay. You are nice, you're sweet, and you dress so well. We love having you here. Thank you so much. Thank you for having me. I really appreciate it. Thank you. Please, I definitely want Easter YouTube channel.

Oh my god, the roommate squads, even college squads, of course, and everything in between. But

Okay, we got it.
Five, six, seven, eight, right? Yeah. Check your nails. Somebody, you know, we couldn't let them leave without winning some money. Who's ready TO PLAY SHOUT RAGES? SO, we played a round of shoutes for $500. We are the glam squad. Thank you very much. Glam squad. We are Memphis finest. Yeah. Round one, glam squad, you're up first. All right. We surprised the girls with nice relaxing massages. They're rolling real on it just for you ladies. We're going to let you guys pamper up, okay? And we're going to see you at the studio tomorrow.
